which do more overall dps in close-medium range combat?

Are scoped mp44s better on grens than volks?

common sense says that 5 machinenpistoles will do more damage than 2 sturmgewehrs.

However, the grenadiers' superior accuracy may make up for what they lack in volume.

Answers appreciated.

  | Zaxis M DPS = 7.72
  | Zaxis L DPS = 3.57


the volksgrenadier rifles are worse than grenadier rifles.
thus, when you buy scoped mp44s for volks less dps is lost because the mp44s replace weaker rifles.
but grenadiers again are more survivable. both units have their advantages.

AFAIK, MP40's will only ever out-dps Scoped MP44's at close range, when you aren't moving.

Scoped MP44's are essentially BAR's without SF, just done in a slightly different way to achieve more or less the same DPS.

Scoped MP44's will work best on Grenadiers as the supporting 2 Gren K98k's are actually worth something, and the squad won't start dying to a sneeze.

Also, +1 to Smokaz.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.

Did you know that no DPS calculations can represent the fact that when a rifleman dies post-burst, the new member instantly shoots a new burst with the bar?

Now Hicks you say that mp44s are essentially BAR's. But that would make mp44s weaksauce because a rifle squad gets 6 bars right? Unless you mean 2 mp44s do the same dps as 6 BAR's.

Has anyone had good experiences with them?

Oh and Leophone that chart represents a single weapons damage in each case right? If that is so then 5 mp40s would really outdamage 2 mp44s

There is like no reason to use an LMG42. A BAR (or S. Mp44) is almost if not just as good as an LMG, and you get two of them. You can't even fire on the move with an LMG, way to gimp your squad for 70 MU

LMG was good with zeal and ferocity,  last grenadier with lmg in green cover was rambo and could take on whole rifle squad.

Ah good point. I do want to max my dps over suppression because i have hmgs for that.

I haven't played in at least a year.....except for vcoh where rifles get 6 bars.

I have a life. LOL.

Riflemen have NEVER had 6 BAR's in an upgrade... Do you have ANY idea how much rape that would cause?

If an Oak Leaves KCH squad approached you from long range, you'd either outright kill it or PIN it before it could get into close range. That's without SF involved.

Alright, lets do it, full upgrade packages for units...

Volk and gren squads with full mps44 packs, full bar rifle units, 4 man LMG teams, full recon sniper to... no wait, bad idea, BAD IDEA, OH GOD

Sillyness aside, I'd love to see a twin flamer pio unit, or a trio of flamer engineers... con? ALWAYS explode on death Cheesy

Remove higher death crit -> doctrine unlock giving engies 2x flamers (works like the Oversupply T3). Problem?

S.MP44s are OK, but even full companies of them are nowhere near as good as (3x) BAR riflemen.

S.MP44s are your all-round DPS booster, and can rape an equal amount of ass at any range you prefer. MP40s are crap weapons on a crap squad, the only time youll see them rape face is vs charging rifles as they cross red cover at close range.
