Sharks are not monsters Henley, they are cute, cuddly and misunderstood. They love humans. sometimes they love TOO much. They love people so much that sometimes their kisses separate people into two flailing pieces which are consumed by other sharks in a frenzy of peace and joy.

All that is needed for this to be stomped into the dirt is for all the major internet services to black themselves out for one day like Reddit is doing on the 18th.

Youtube, google, facebook, myspace, etc.

Just shut down service for one day and put a pop-up summery of what SOPA and PIPPA are (with a little information on contacting your congressman) and you would have revolution overnight.

American politics seem so out of touch with things that I wouldn't be surprised if this got through.

Sadly yes, and where every game that has guns in it, is considered dangerous and likely to be censored.

Bit of a whole in this theory as written.

Quote
Here’s an example. A game publisher is unhappy that a player is streaming live play from a recent pro-game.

What game company would ever be unhappy with free advertising of their product? Why would they ever want to stop their players from streaming anything that brought attention to their product and help improve sales.

This is a great example of fear mongering.

didnt say they would but they could. Its just an overpowered power play against piracy.

piracy was around before teh internet, thats where iso's came from. its been around since there were boats, piracy can never be stopped, just frustrated

what did they do to stop people from using cassette tapes to "burn" music, before that people would make molds of records.

itll always happen, they need to accept that.

Google wont let it happen.  Considering its entire search engine is based on site interlinking.  If websites stop linking other sites, their search engine wont work anymore or will not be as good as it is now.
