Anyone have a setup of a balanced, normal company, just the units alone, that they think nobody would have any complaints about?  Cool

The only way this would be possible is if the factions were mirrored.

Otherwise, there will always be a complaint.

No. Those are 2 good players who I pretty much always see using all kinds of units in 1 company. Makes them fun to play against too.

On the other hand you have been consistently having a large amount of mines the last 10-15 games I played with you.  I guess we're in the same sad boat? I'm  not saying this to flame but some other people would say that the focus on mines is pretty annoying, and slows the game down  Cool

What are the pools supposed to look like? How many different unit types do you need to be accepted into the church of normality?

13 different units is that good enough?

i have hvap rounds, 2x m8s, 2xm10s, and 5xm18s that's variety right =P

i didnt start winning games consistently until I started "spamming" units.

once my infantry company focused on BAR rifles and officers I started winning, my armor company at its best has been the m18 spam and hvap.

i guess my defensive is the most balanced, 2x 88s, panther, ostwind, 2x officers, 3x paks, 3x mgs, volks, some elite grens. and it does pretty well for itself.

there is no such thing as balanced company in EIRR. Those who claim that they have are liars and want to show "IM A FAIR PLAYER K? U SPAM" Therefore saying things like balanced companies is like lying in court that you only touched a girl instead of raping her.

Its more about having a balanced force on the field.

Having 3 goliaths in your company is fine, but for example starting with 3 of them at the same time can be experienced as annoying.

Or having 3 M8s in your company is fine, but starting with 3x M8 and raping everything and escaping is annoying.

3x 4man kch is fine, but having them on the field at the same time in a blob is fucked up.

In EIR such 'spam' of this kind wins vs a combined force, you can really see this in a 1v1 and thats why 1v1s dont work.

So its about what you actually have on the field instead of what your company looks like.

I'd argue Skaffa that 1 KCH on the field is highly wasteful and ineffective.  If you want results, MINIMUM you need to field 2 squads at once, ideally 3-4.

Balanced companies can be fine and good, but it doesn't get results as say... someone brings a KT on the field.  A single ATG isn't going to stop it, but 3-4 17lbers will stop it cold in its track.  What do I back them up with?  3 squads of SMG rangers (technically the gun is the M5 ATG).  You need to either hit me with same or higher numbers of assault troops just to stand a chance at breaking through the infantry (15 smgs, 18 guys).  Add in a triage, and its gravy ^^

What would be nice for a balanced company is having that one thing on the field to hard counter something.. say your allies have nothing but zooks and ATGs on the field and they get rushed by say 2 assault flame squads.  A handy M8 can vehicle push them away and kill them, thereby saving your allies.  That's the bigger key than building your company to cover everything.  Maximize your strength but cover your weakness.  Don't sacrifice your best stuff to field mediocre stuff (ie Fireflies are the best AT tank the allies got, while the US has nothing really comparable to that - which isn't a suicide unit).

I tend to build balanced companies.

Core:

Bren Carrier + Piats
Lt
17 lb
bofors
bren tommies
minesweeper (fill up the 1 pop i had and to scout mainly)

Infantry:

1. Recon Tommy + mg team
2. Recon + mg team
3. Bren Tommies
4. Bren Tommies + Bren Carrier
5. Recon Tommies x2
6. Recon Tommy + Rifle Nade Tommies
7. Recon Tommy + Regular Tommy Squad
8. Recon Tommy

Armor:

1. Churchhill Croc
2. Command Tank
3. Cromwell

Anti Tank:

1. Fire Fly
2. Fire Fly
3. Bren Carrier + piats
4. Piats
5. Piats
6. 17 lb

Support:

1. Bofors
2. Mg gun nest

Note the number depict what units are each call on box.

This company build has served me really well when teams are.......... actually balanced or just slightly tilted out of my favor.

I typically run 2 churchill crocs with double repairs, but went back to one. Although I do have quite a few Recons so I guess that would defeat "balanced company" in some eyes.

I like to think that I run pretty balanced companies in general, granted they are built around the abilities I pick but that's a granted, my brit company looks roughly like this...

Inf
7-8x Recon Squads (What can I say, I love that extra sight range)
4-5x Canadians
6x Sapper Piats
1x Captain
2x Lt

Armor
1x 95mm Crom
1x Firefly
1x CCT
1x Archilles
2x Priest

Support
3x ATG
1x Mortar Emplacement
1x CCS
1x MG Team

I think thats it, if I remember right

Croc, tommys (with bren and ccs), 17 pounder
bofors
tommy (bren) 17 pounder
minesweeper
2x recon squads
2x tommies (2x bren, 1x ccs, but I trade brens for boys AT when facing PE)

2x nilla tommies for recrew
2x nilla tommies for recrew
2x nilla tommies for recrew
2x nilla tommies for recrew

croc
croc
avre

tommy (bren) 6 pounder
tommy (bren) 6 pounder
tommy (bren) 6 pounder

This company is currently on the leader board with almost a 2:1 win loss ratio, most of my losses were with me playing around with reward units, but under normal circumstances it does fantastic. one of my best coys. the only coy ive ever had that's gotten me on the leader board =)

Yeah Mid T4, gets better the more members of a squad you use, but that pretty much sucks anyway
