This suggestion is introduced to Doctrine of Scortched Earth as a addition to the HMG42 squad.

A 60mm Mortar team.

In brief detail. American Mortar with a German crew occupying it. It can be considered as a Leicht granatenwerfer and as a additional option between Mortar halftrack and this mortar crew.

On the positive side it can be recrewed and doesn't cost any fuel (which SE is currently crying for) and can not be 2 shotted by anti tank guns.´

 Abilites.
 - Deploy smoke
 - Incidinary Shell

Counters. Same as applies to Wehrmacht mortar team.

Opinnions?

Except in pathing and while the firing animation is on- well, lets just say- its immobile for the duration and dies to few hits. If Mortar crew dies the weapon remains and therefore can be recrewed as I've stated on the positive sides.

Halftrack pathing is outright horrible.

PE has different methods with the same results, stop trying to go for units which fit an established play style rather than adapting your own play style to fit the units.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.

Hicks, do I use mortars in the first place? I'm not trying to fit units to my style. I personally think mortars as more of a friendly killer than anything else and they do not fit my gamestyle so your argument is invalid.

Everyone however can agree with me that PE is a weakchild of Axis warhorse and its ability to counter support weapon spam is weaker and its only indirect fire that has most uses is a halftrack which isn't a problem at all to get rid of due to its armor, pathing and range. 60mm Mortar crew has the same range arguably but it does not suffer from the other weaknesses of a MHT. And most of all, it does not take away the precious fuel.

You did notice that it comes in a package with Mg42 Doc unlock? Which means only SE gets them from their doc points. I mean sure we can take out GMZs and stummels because they are clearly StuH replicas. Same thing basically.

all manned weapon crews need to disappear from PE period.

i do like the idea tho, dont get me wrong but it really screws with the uniqueness of the doctrines to do stuff like this.

i enjoy the PE mortar hafltrack it doesnt suffer 1 hit kills like allied mortar does constantly. its got incedniary shot which is already a bonus its mobile. if you leave your mortar HT in the open to get shot by a atg your bad.
 also i want a Axis mortar on allies.

No weaknesses, right. So your MHT crew gets instagibbed by one 81mm shell when its trying to move around. Or bum rushed by infantry and killed while trying to run away (if an ATG can chase you down, you're doing it wrong).

I mean, sheesh, takes minimal damage from small arms and counter-mortars, which forces someone to expend a vehicle of some sort to kill it--and said vehicle will probably die in the process assuming the axis player isnt total garbage.

Good logic. Are you going to tell us that .30 cal AP rounds > an 88 next?  Roll Eyes

THIS x a million.  PLEASE stop mirror balancing.

PE is fine, it just could use some doctrinal love and more competent players that don't try to force Wehr playstyles on PE.

Poor PE, looks like SE still has to run 2-3 marders or 50mms only as they can't afford anything else.

jesus christ speedy...support weapon spam totally fails vs PE...ATG walls are a pain, but they can be handled by competent PE players...anyone not running at least 2 MHTs in their company needs to not play PE anyways.  And there are other ways...Hummel, incendiary nades, flanking, ACs can dodge, ISTs, especially with incendiary shells, etc...
