Not proposing this directly as a suggestion but just wanted to share this thought.

What if companies were more specialized? Instead of Tier's that may generalize companies would be kinda like this

Let's use Infantry as an example since it's the company I've used the longest and know the best.

You have these unlocks
Rangers, Officers, Howitzer, Triage, Jumbo

Let's just go with one, and say Rangers.

So if you pick rangers, you're basically choosing to go with an infantry focused build and would get choses that are specific to infantry buffs.

Basically buffs to rifles, engineers, rangers but none to any vehicles, tanks and support weapons.

If you go with a howie, it would be support weapon based, jumbo; vehicle based and triage and officer could be part of the infantry tree as abilities.

this way you could also add in other types of unlocks for the jumbo and howitzer like a auro for the jumbo, or increased penetration, hvss that would help it go a little faster or ride smoother over yellow/green terrain, ap rounds for howie, air burst rounds etc.

the great thing about this system is that certain buffs could be mirrored across doctrines as universal buffs.

So like with hmm allies you can have a 10% penetration buff across infantry, airborne and armor or a 5% speed buff, so you dont have to create different entries.

What do you guys think?

Again, I'm not trying to provide this as a suggestion, just wanted to create discussion I guess and heck maybe if it's liked enough...

Then again, EIR has come so far, dont need anymore reworks lol

"I want proof!"
"I have proof!"
"Whatever, I'm still right"

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

The doctrines used to be hella specialized, but some units were overbuffed, ALLTHOUGH, the common arguement is that when everything is ridiuclous, its megafun and kinda balanced becuase all the ridiculousness balances against itself.

thats the point of this. someone may have real good infantry but no buffs on anything else cuz they put everything in their infantry, or very good light vehicles or heavies, but nothing else.

Yeah, I mentioned a similar idea to this quite a while ago, IE actual company specialisation.

It never took off, and it wont until their current project is done with, which is the warmap and then the veterancy redo.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

Company specialisation MAY make an appearance in place of the advantages screen if I can devote enough time and resources to the 'Warmap Commander' screen.

Otherwise, it will just be a place to manage your resource, pool and other bonuses.

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

Why don't you collect up your love beads and potpourri and find something constructive to do.
