Can someone explain to me why I have 230 fuel that I cant use for anything except light armour?

Even when I've maxed out on cheap light pumas and bikes I cant get rid of my fuel. thanks now I got 90 fuel in my basement.

I thought the whole point of advantages was being able to specialize in something. but hey...

there is nothing called varity anymore.

first you took away my dual kts, then you took my airborne away and now 4 p4 + 1 panther + dual repairs...

What are you doing with the mod?!

I know you guys are working hard and doing the best you can...

but man... bring back eir that was three years ago... At least we had a working "warmap" which was simple and awesome.

You could also do really freaky and cool companies!

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

What do you mean, no changes were made to starting F and vehicle F values in a long time. You should be able to spend that 230F just fine

If variety is dictated by how many of one unit you can get, then you will never be satisfied.

When we allow you to get 4 P4s and a panther, you'll be complaining that you cannot get 5 and a panther.

Because they don't know how to balance based on price, so toss in pools to keep you from doing anything interesting.

Because they don't know how to balance based on price, so toss in pools to keep you from doing anything interesting.

Often one or two of a unit type is balanced just fine. The problem is when multiples of that unit are used, it creates an imbalance. Making any change to the unit cost would make the single or dual usage imbalanced.

So just for simplicity sake, lets just say one unit is balanced (less typing).

So - Unit A is balanced
Multiples (lets say 4) becomes unbalanced

Pool values create a cost associated with the increased strength (imbalance) of that unit. It is the typical cost = reward scenario.

It is very obvious that changing the cost of Unit A instead of creating a pool value would make the single use of Unit A imbalanced.

One could argue that there is a balanced cost of multiple units, however this is completely false due to the flexibility of that number. One price for 1 to 5 of a specific unit is unachievable.
The only real alternative to pool values would be hard capping; but that would completely restrict company build creativity and specialization.

You appear to be very opinionated and critical of the controls we have in place, but I have not seen a viable alternative to which the majority of the community agrees with being presented by you.

If you have the perfect solution, the development team would love to hear it. It could save us countless hours on this portion of development.

I know, use the backup files for the eir we had three years ago, including doctrines etc. Then you just focus on balancing pe and brits. Problem solved.

A unit its not imbalanced because a group of then is hard to counter. That's like saying Rifles are OP because you only have 2 panthers on field and get capped.

Imbalance does not happen when a jack of all trades company loses to a specialist company. It happens when it is more cost/pop efficient than its counters.

You're pretty much saying there is no need for a unit availability system? Quite a lot of nonsense. Barring a period of perhaps +- 6 months EIR has always had some sort of unit availability in place, following the sound logic that a unit is priced solely based on its performance by itself and players should not be expected to build specific companies with the sole purpose of countering a certain gimmick strategy. A simple example is the sniper, you can not control a unit like the sniper with just pricing and pop alone, you're either going to end up pricing him too restrictively or you'll end up pricing him far too liberal (resulting in people building companies around the unit, like puddin used to)

Maybe you're just arguing semantics really. Groups of specific units being 'too powerful' is not per se unit imbalance, but it's still something we have to address from both a design and balance point of view. (It's balance on a more meta level as you will)

This is also seen in vCOH. Flamethrowers on individual pios weren't OP, but when someone decided to build an entire strategy around them, it was unstoppable. Relic didn't address this by nerfing sappers or flamethrowers, instead they aimed at stopping only the specific strategy, this was done by giving flamethrower sappers a negative zeal effect. A genious fix, where as following your logic they should have just made flamethrowers more expensive.

Could you imagine getting hit with a bag of dicks? Honestly I loved the mod from 3 years ago because it was actually super fun to play. I love having super buffed units and doctrine unlocks that made a huge difference!
