Nikomas, this has everything to do with a slight spelling mistake.

I know a guy that has asbergers, he gets agitated if he doesn't understand whats going on, but you just have to not be subtle with him and its all good. Kinda enjoyable.

Vermillion's has "ASSbergers", which is a completely different disorder and only treatable by eletric stimuli to the anus.

I'm no expert on it, but I don't think labeling people with Aspergers as being like RainMan is totally correct. It's not full blown autism after all.

Rainman would be an example of what people have come to call 'Savants'. These are people with high functioning autism who oddly enough, lose most social aspects but trade it off for being a total genius in a single sector. It tends to crop up in memory or logic based tasks, such as mathematics. Another example would be one guy who pretty much memorises everything he sees - He was took in a helicopter flight over a town/city which I forget the name of and memorised the lot, then proceeded to draw the lot of it from memory. Amazing stuff tbh.

For the most part, this wont be found in Aspergers, which is more or less a lower grade of full blown Autism when put into simple terms. I've got a nice clean definition of Aspergers with most the common symptoms lying around in one of my Psychology books, I may dig it out at a later date.

Though, one of the key symptoms of Autism in general is a poor/total inability to see things from another's perspective. A small example would be that if an autistic person were to see where a set of keys were put, they'd assume that because they know, so does everybody else. A heavy generalisation, but it helps put across the concept. The worse the Autism, the worse the symptoms show. Some people with lower Aspergers can live life just fine and be seen as a bit odd by society and that's it. All depends on the severity.

Hicks got it pretty much right, one of the most common things about people with aspergers is problem adapting to/understanding "Social norms", if that makes any sense.

But I dunno, I'd have to disagree on people with Aspergers being highly intelligent at something, and I don't mean to offend anyone, so don't take this the wrong way Niko, but a couple people that I know with Aspergers that are my age are not at all proficient in any one area, at least not academically. I'm no expert on it, but I don't think labeling people with Aspergers as being like RainMan is totally correct. It's not full blown autism after all.

In the case of aspergers it's not really like that and I dont think I implied it either, it's more along the lines of fixated interestes. One guy in my class really loves trains and busses, because of this interest he is literarly a living timetable for all local busses and trains and he can name every trainstop on the stockholm lines. However this is not because of the autism part but rather an extremly focused interest and the time he spent on that.

It's very common for people with asp to focus on one thing alone like that, in my own case it's always been computers but thats way to common to be noticable unlike, say, busses and trains.
