Looks like there will be no instant I win buttons in COH 2: http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/07/06/company-of-heroes-2-creating-an-authentic-experience?page=1

Thanks for the post. I love how menacing the MG42 sounds now and the echoing is a nice touch.

Dont believe the hype they trying to create. This all means nothing if the game itself is gonna be shit.

So, instead of "LETS GET FIRED UP!" its now "FIRE UP OR THE COMMISSAR WILL EAT YOUR COCK"

I dont really think theres going to be less I win buttons. But well see. Maybe they will make it better.

Like the sound though. Weapons in CoH1 do sound wimpy. Especialy Mp40s. My god those sound like pea shooters.

Well they have yet to release any gameplay videos so the jury is still out about whether the game is going to be terrible. I stopped getting hyped for games after the atrocious development of Resident Evil 5. Resident Evil 6 suggests that they've decided to exacerbate the series' murder. "Let's release a gameplay video that consists of no gameplay for the first 15 minutes. That way we can bore viewers to the point that they'll think the 2 minutes of mediocre combat looks fantastic".

Having good audio is always preferable to shitty audio. It's just a matter of whether they get the gameplay right rather than focusing on additional features that have no impact on gameplay. For all I know, the game might flop and considering THQ's financial state, it's a reasonable possibility. THQ could be pressuring Relic to release a new Company of Heroes, which might explain why they decided to abandon the idea of additional features in order to focus on "refining gameplay". The question is whether the truesight system, the Russian faction and additional insignificant features will justify a purchase. After all, Tales of Valor was an obvious cash grab.

actually sounds like there will still be the instant "i win" buttons. Just renamed.
But now sounds like health and damage is going to be more realistic. No more KCH running through 12 rifles shooting them point blank in the face

Expect the gameplay to be merciless. I'm sure there will still be times where your popping shots at enemies in green cover and they are shooting back but Expect units caught in the open to get vaporized.

sounds more and more epic and thats how it should be. if you run across an open field or across a road and get ambushed by an hmg, it should tear you to pieces, not make you get suppressed.

coh has a very chess like feel at times.

"this unit must do this so this unit can kill it"

The sounds are amazing. Just like RO2.

Dont believe the hype they trying to create. This all means nothing if the game itself is gonna be shit.

The gameplay is going to be VERY similar to coh, this is a sequel, they're not gonna make a completely different game. It will be like coh but with a lot of improvements. They even said that they will be very conservative with gameplay changes.

What is going to change is the other stuff, the stuff that coh was lacking. Base building will be improved, doctrines and veterancy will be completely remade for the better and probably expanded, line of sight will be realistic, there will be more levels of cover, new units, deep snow will create bottlenecks (so a map can be flat but instead of hedges everywhere there can be obstacles like ditches and snow). Basically adding more in depth strategy and viable options while maintaining the core gameplay of coh.

What do you expect, complete gameplay videos this early in development?

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

Yes, but they also admitted that they made mistakes with DOW2 like changing the core gameplay too much. Something that they will stray clear of with COH2.
