Hey Gang, it's that time again! It's time for Moddb's mod of the year for 2012! We have come along way in the last
year and while everything may not have been plugging along as fast as we would like, EIRR has made leaps of
improvmenet in game balance, doctrines and in introducing the warmap.

So as a part of our moddb promotion, I am giving everyone in the community 25 reward points and moving all the
reward units to an army wide basis instead of being restricted faction wide.

I would also like to take this time to plug what will be our next launcher update, which would be the warmap cards
and accompanying market place. More on this to come but these mechanics are essentially a way to buy and sell
warmap cards for war gold which can be spent on a variety of in-game items, cards, bonuses, etc.

Here are some screenshots of the Alpha version:

Now it's time to do your part. Go to our moddb home page and vote Europe in Ruins to be "Mod of the Year" here at
http://www.moddb.com/mods/europe-in-ruins, or the link provided on the front page http://forums.europeinruins.com/index.php?page=165.

Thanks everyone!

I have a question about reward units, can you have double repair on a reward unit?

If the reward unit was initially made for one faction, then only that doctrine's factional abilities will be applied to that unit.

So for example, an Elephant bought by a WH company that has german engineering will not receive the option for a second repair kit.

That requires an RGD change which we don't have the capability of doing on the fly.

So, its something new and better than nothing.

Besides the fact he is unaware since the only way any of us knows is because we see the forum.

So the Nashorn, Wespe, FlakIV, PzII and Jagdtiger are Panzer Elite units right?

Also it makes no sense to shorten Wehrmacht to WH. It's a combination of two words. Wehr and Macht. It basically means Armed Forces or more literally Defense Force.

Uh. I see no reason that Wehrmacht can't be shortened to WM or WH (though WM makes more sense to me, wierdo Groundfire D: ). Unless you want to jump into the grime of German compound words.

FROM THE EF FORUMZ
Hello, I've heard about you making them as the new team and CoH 2 will feature them but i looked it up on the internet to learn about them(Never of heard of them before CoH) and the only stuff that pops up is Eastern Front mod pages about it and i was wondering was it a group like the Wehrmacht or is it like meaning something specific in German? Sorry i know more about Western Front WW2(more interesting  to me that Eastern Front).

Soooo yeah try not to flame me too bad for being such an idiot. Thanks.

Ostheer translates literally to "East(ern) Army" or "Army of the East" (Ostarmee or Ostheer). The Germans, especially the military, are famous for their compound words; Falschirmjagergewehrzweiundvierzig (Paratrooper rifle 42, or FG42), Panzerabwehrkanone (tank/armor defense gun/cannon, which you know as PaK, or PaK 38 in-game) and so on are a couple of examples. Even their military nomanclature is outrageously overcomplicated by Western standards: 16.RFSS-PzG-Div/16.SS-Pz-Aufklärungs-Abt. SdKfz 234 'Puma' Schwere Panzerspähwagen translates directly(ish) to "16th SS Panzer Reconnaissance Abteilung (Battalion), 16th SS Division Das Reich Sdkfz 234 'Puma' Heavy Armored Scout Car". Mouthfull, eh?

/end derail

Voted. Lets spam that mofo, shall we? Also, for shits and giggles, visit the Operation Avalanche page (just google Operation Avalanche mod).

In all of those examples the letters used are either the first letter in a word or the second. Panzerabwehrkanone, three words, shortened to PaK. Wehrmacht, two words, shortened to WM.

WH stands for Wehrmacht Heer, which designates the ground forces.
