I opened these ports for COH and disabled my router firewall. Theoretically, I should be able to host games in EIR right? I used to be able to with my old router (after port forwarding).

UDP   6112 - 6112   6112 - 6112   -   -

UDP   9100 - 9100   9100 - 9100   -   -

UDP   30260 - 30260   30260 - 30260   -   -

UDP   9101 - 9101   9101 - 9101   -   -

UDP   30275 - 30275   30275 - 30275   -   -

AFAIK you need only these 2 ports, dont open more

On   Proto   Src Address   Ext Ports   Int Port   Int Address   Description
On   UDP                              6112,30260 192.168.1.9   coh

if you do portfwd right and add reliccoh.exe to your pc fw as trusted app/exception, you can host and ppl connect to you more reliably. however sometimes issue can be in NAT routing in your ISP or other players router/connection.

The ONLY port you need to forward is 6112.

Anything more than that is pure overkill. I used to have a shit ton of connection problems, but I forwarded 6112 (Well, TigerHunters forwarded that, I'm forwarding 6113, were on the same router) and we've not had a single problem since.

TIG is a bit off the mark, port forwarding is pretty effective with CoH so long as you do 6112 on both TCP/UDP. Most problems tend to arise when other people haven't bothered to forward their 6112 port even though they consider themselves to not have a single issue with CoH regardless.

I've got a full guide in the tech support section to both port forward and how to do it for multiple computers on the same router.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

But for the changes to take place I'm pretty sure that I have to restart the router. But I don't know how. There is an on/off button like this one  but nothing happens when I press it.

most routers will auto restart (or at least ask you too) and do so when making changes that require it.

I've tried that already but hosting in COH still doesn't work. I get the NAT error when I try to host.

Did you try turning it off and back on?

again,

- use the port numbers on UDP i provided, they are COH official
- routers/modem GUI where you will do it, shoul be option to save changes and restart it (if not sure, save, then unplug router/modem for at least 10 seconds from power)
- disable Win firewall and service too (unless you use obscure internet sharing feat), http://support.qbik.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=89
- add exception/trusted app RelicCOH.exe to your personal firewall (e.g. dl free Comodo personal FW)
- test ports, http://www.ipfingerprints.com/portscan.php , check advanced: 'dont ping' and  UDP

if all is done correctly, there are no issues barring ppl to join your games, unless you have some 'exotic' ISP or some malware/service is using that port already

-If i need networking help for COH i would honestly go to Hicks over anything official from COH, their record in that area has been less then stellar

-Disabling Windows Firewall (or Defender) is generally not a good idea, and shouldn't be blocking COH as it is

you know this is internet, and i try only to help, be sure no pissing contest

you dont know me and i dont know hicks or you. but honestly same way I think you and hick know nothing about networking, TCP/IP stack, QoS packet shaping and so on Smiley)

also, hicks number 6112 is same no?  I add other one too ( you can check in COH NEWS tab and scroll all way down, relic themselfs tried to clear this thing up, I used to use even betaCOH 9100 or something port years before, just to be sure)

in regards to win firewall you totaly dont know what your talking about and enjoy your builtin obtrusive shit then Smiley  . this advice was not for coh only but general

also no need to open these ports, regardles what numbers they are in both TCP/UDP mode and for more range than necessary, you risk vulnerabilities to be exploited

I was almost about to go play golf with this router and buy another one but then I got it to work finally, apparently opening ports with the router interface doesn't work and the only way to do it is to use UPnP. Here is a convenient guide.

-Start
-My Computer
-Network (NOT "network and sharing center")
-Right click on your router
-Properties
-Settings
-Add a service

A form will pop up, fill it with this:

Name of service: COH (Can be anything)

IP address: Your internal IP*

6112 in both Internal and External port fields.

Select UDP.

*Get your IP adress by doing this: Start -> Run -> cmd -> ipconfig -> find IPv4 should look like 192.168.x.x

Save this service, close the window. Launch COH.
