I think it's a really good film, better than the LOTR films. I don't want to spoil anything but Gollum is Frodo's father.

IT was really good even though 80% of the movie was story based it was pretty bad ass diving into the LOTR Lore.

Just needs to remove the bullshit Azog plotline (except the battle outside of Moria) and it'd be a lot better.

Was really dumb how Jackson made it out like Azog was hunting Thorin the whole time.

Maybe for people that have read the hobbit, but not everyone else.

I would also like to add I watch fox news everyday all day and will continue to watch it while being proud of that fact. I'm sure you enjoy your communist news network just as much.

To be fair, having read the Hobbit I liked the fact the Azog plotline was put in there. It made the movie a lot fresher to watch with something new in it, rather than just a pure squeaky-clean adaptation of the book.

I like that they included the appendices and all the backstory. That shit was epic.

Can't wait for the other 2 movies

....i didnt like it.

i know the book is not meant to be as serious as the LOTR ones. So it felt like the movie was  step down from the LOTR trilogy.

plus how many times did the dwarves fall in the movie. Felt like half the movie was the dwarves or bilbo going. woaaaaaahhhhhhh. And then living.

That's how it was in the Book i mean none of the stupid arses died. But the wizard bringing shit back to life i was like dafuq?. IMO i wish there was more magic in the movie.

If anything there was too much usage of magic. Gandalf is a wizard, but he's supposed to use his powers sparingly - he's only supposed to be an emissary on Middle-Earth.

I am going to get around to reading the books in the next year or two, debating if I want to do them or the game of thrones books first.

the LOTR books were an interesting change of pace.
the hobbit...i guess its just a childrens book

my friend has read the GoT books. And she says they are very very long and take serious time to read.

dont read the got books. they are terrible. like pulling teeth to read. i read tons, they are written by an illiterate ape. watch the show, its way better/explains wtf is going on and there isnt much more depth in the books like you get with most books. besides the fatass hasnt even finished the story. in this case dont, go read a dictionary or the encyclopedia britannica from 1992, either is better.

After having read the series up until the fourth book (and thereafter resolving not to spend money on the rest of it), I'm actually inclined to agree with you.
