Not even a new mod. We could sandbox this next patch if I get everything working.

Just reward points and some "unofficial rules" like "dont use a tiger" and you got an early war version of EIRR

We likely could not play PE then due to their reliance on heavy TD and lights with no middle ground... marders vs mediums is a bit iffy Wink

Hmmm, you should throw in the grant as a standard ami unit then, I mean, it's a bit before the sherman isn't it?

-No doctrines (So no rangers, oak leaves, storms or ab, no stuhs either)
-No heavies (so no hellcats or panthers)

That could be interesting I guess, still, I belive allies would have the edge cause both the m10 and sherman sorta beats the PzIV sadly, that's why if we could throw in the grant it could be fun!

I would make a custom roster of units and prices excluding late war units or making them very very expensive comparatively.

So, your P4 would cost the same as a KT.

And to point out further, I would make the whole roster period correct, so if it didn't exist in 1939 or 1940, then you wont use it.

Once the game is patched, than it's possible to have "Themed weekends" or other promotional events.

It'd definitely be a breath of fresh air to which I'd have no objections.

However, what'd you do about people with say... Vetted Pershings or Tigers?

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

Well, Im not going to delete anyone's units.

You would just have to make a new battalion comprised of nothing but the early era units and find others who wish to play the same mode as you.

I dont picture this to be a permanent thing. Just a colorful option.

If someone joins up in a game and starts rolling around with pershings, I expect that the other players didnt properly screen everyone and that this person using late war units would be named and shamed.

But uh, how would you make the changes to pricing then? Separate doctrines or something? Or would you make enough reward units to make an entire company out of "old" units with modified pricing just on the launcherside?

And if we're going by 39, I think the best we'd get would be IST's... Sheesh, without the PzIII's that going to suck Sad

I have a PzkfwIII model.

We have all the models we need to make this work.

This is a great idea!

Even when COH2 rolls around (assuming that we have EIRR 2), we could have the orginal EIRR  be a 1939-1940 era game and give it a new name.

If we want EIR 1939 get Finnish front or Polish front.

If you want 1940 no Americans allowed. Wink British vs Germany Only. Shame there ain't no Frenchies.

The real change would be no long barrel Shermans, skirted medium or heavy armor from the Germans, I don't even think 50mm Pumas were then, no hetzers either

Because a forum post should be like a woman's skirt. Long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.

we need the same variation of units for the jear 1939 as we have right now to actually not lose any gameplay. i dont see the units we could add to make it work.

nice idea though

I think you mean no shermans at all, hence m3 lee/grants Smiley

If we want to be correct about this, we'd not only have no Sherman but we'd have no long barrled PzIV's either. The F2 upgrade (Long barrel PzIV) was made on larger scale in 41', right before barbarossa if I remember right. So at best we get IST's.

To my memory the PzIII was the primary anti tank role around this time if we look at the afrika campaign... If we have a working PzIII model, Lee's would be the allied heavy tank I'd suppose! All we need is Matilda and oh lawd.

Even then, the Lee and the Crusader are both 41' tanks... what DID the allies have back in 39'? I mean, they were barely fighting then... And I'm pretty sure we don't have models for the french tanks. They were actually pretty good for the time and the Bis.b1 was the heaviest around at the time I believe. It'd be the tiger of 1939 Wink

I belive we'd be rolling with the Ausf.H. The first variant that got up armoured by 30cm around 40' and I'd imagine the model ground's got has the 5cm gun?

Basically there are unit variations.

One could basically ignore the infantry altogether. Everyone do know that Volksgrenadiers came only after 1944s, everything Germans had is light and medium tank shit. To consider that P4 was actually considered a HEAVY tank for a moment and we are talking about a Short barrel version.

Basically Germans would have plenty of grenadiers and panzergrenadiers, plenty of light tanks and some medium armor, namely Panzer IIIs but if we skip technicalities one can add in Panzer 4s.

To limitations if anyone tried to be overly specific in-game speaking we wouldn't have any tanks at all, aside of the new Panzer I and Panzer II. For allies? Stuart light tanks and Crusaders and Matildas tetrachs(as a common vehicle)  Heck even Churchills M.K Is came out 41 there wouldn't be many vehicles aside of halftracks and light tanks, only after 40 the real tanks started to pump out. As we don't have France in it, we have French unit(s) but they are all in German side, if you may, if you can convert Hotchkisses (non stuka variant) to Allies, you have a solid French unit at your service.

So, how would one do it then? Basically German offence in most of them.

If we throw out technicality out of window and do it EIRR 1942 then you basically can start using most of the already available units.

...allied armor would most likely be just namely tetrachs, stuarts and other tiny light tanks(also hotchkisses) but that's namely IT. Germans neither had a lot of tanks aside of light tanks in forms of Czech Pz35 38ts and their panzer 1 and panzer II and Panzer IIIs, basically Germans hold the advantage on vehicle side as they do have(?) 3 models available right? I,II and III?

There are PZI models, we have PZII's in the game and ground said he had a PZIII model, this means we can use appropriate tanks and the IST can stay an IST.
