Since we are talking about Commando Snipers I'll take this opportunity to ask why the SMG guy won't receive the sniper rifle if the other guy gets shot down. Is that intended too? Considering that it can't sprint, can't cloak and only has smoke screen with a big-ass cooldown time, it might be a good idea. (sorry for offtopic post)

Because the sniper and the spotter are 2 diffrent guys, similar to the Ami officer one can call in offmaps while the other gives the aura buff, the commando sniper has 1 is a spotter that has huge sight while the other one is a sniper(should be like that but it seems like they are just copys of each other exluding the weapon hardpoints, 1 has a sniper while the other one has a sten so they both have 55 health and 70 sight and soldier armor)

I'm fully aware of that, but then again. Why is it so? If the sniper guy gets killed the unit becomes useless, so there is not much point in a 2 men sniper squad... :/

Its a gameplay implementation, not much else than that.
Same way that Ami officers have 2 diffrent roles of 1 guy being the aura support and one dropping smoke.
i Guess the idea is that diffrent units have diffrent roles as snipers work in teams of 2 where one specilices in finding the enemy and informing him of the distance and wind while the other one is to aim and fire.

Aside from that you can still allways have a commando sniper squad without the spotter as there is always a 50/50 chance of each one being sniped/shot/blown up.

That's true, however since commando sniper can not cloak, is a doctrine specific unit and can not sprint, it could get some sort of "survivability increase".

The commando sniper IS more survivable, in terms of maintaining vet, and is a lot more effective simply because the second guy gives you a sight range bonus which actually allows you to fully utilise your maximum range on the sniper, something other snipers can't unless they have other units scouting.

I think allowing it to enter HTs like other snipers is accessible, but it really doesn't need any other love.

More survivable?. Tell me since when does anyone care about vet on snipers?. i personally dont care for some crap buffs on a weak unit.  sight isn't even a big deal it's great to have and all but it doesn't matter when you get counter sniped because you can't cloak.

I don't know how many times my mando sniper has died to a tank crush or random drive by puma because piats cant hit LV and button isn't effective vs them. same with bikes.  no quads bcmmgs bad accuracy.

PIAT's excellent LV counters, you're just not pro enough.

I proved this concept in a game where 2 squads of PIAT's killed like 16 consecutive AC's

In vcoh against AI While piats are in trenches?
Or in eir against some newbie.

Piats are abysmal AT against moving targets

I take it nobody knows how to use attack ground then?

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

They forgot how to do it around the same time they forgot that they could keep snipers at max range with attack move.

Ding Ding Ding!

Winner!

god forbid there should be a way to get the most out of your units by investing some time with them. You virtual dudes have feelings too.

Yes, it is in terms of retaining vet, but not in terms of staying on the field for longer and causing serious loss to opponents. Which is sniper's main role, not to leave the field in 1 piece. IMO

I almost always use attack ground with piats, but even still the piats might hit and do next to no damage.
I know that the piats have more accuraccy with attack ground, but unlike schrecks or zooks who if they roll a hit they never miss and you see that rocket do some crazy tracking.

Yeh I'm down for mandos snipers being able to use UC's without firing, it just makes sense
