In the alpha I was rather impressed with MP44s, they felt like they had good engagement profiles at everything but long. I used 2 squads to wipe like 6 squads of conscripts and guards from mid range.

just curious, what is that 10m actual on game screen or how  one can measure it?  I just imagine how far it would be in perspective to little digital soldiers?

Best unit of measurement for comparison would be the max range of PIV's and Shermans in vCoH, which is 40.

Infantry weaponry is 35, ATG's have 60, etc.

I assume being on the same engine, their unit of measurement is still the same distance.

Most infantry's view distance is either 35 or 40, more leaning towards 40 if I remember correctly, meaning 10 would be a quarter of your max sight range (in clear conditions).

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

thx AlphaTIG

that actually answered my question a bit. I thought there is some isometric screenshot from coh in mixed area (maybe church with graveyard) depicting tank with line of pio squad every 10m just to get picture how far it is in game itself and even vague examplelegend what s/m/l for basic inf and med tank

.... so dled beta

://

grafix performance more abysmal then in alpha, ugh . i am on laptop but it 7470M is capable of more taxing games... cmon

it basically seems like game is running in burst of smoothnes, pulsating with shoddy optimization, i would not expect this in beta stage frankly

anyway, at least i can contribute by my 5 min exp before i delete it and here is your trolling gift:

1. go to settings, click gfx properties, fiddle, save
2. run performance test, no fucks given, no results, okay.jpg
3.notice cca 1000XP plus
4. rinse, repeat for profit hehe

I think i will wait till eir2 is implemented and bugs out, to me it seems they will be rushing this out to show sega quick acquisition satisfaction

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Radeon+HD+7470

That graphics card isn't so good. For running most modern games at even low you want at least a 500 score, and for medium graphics a 900 is helpful to have.

...no, sure it is not that bad mobile gfx nor onboard one, its 1GB 900mhz DDR5 750mhz gpu clock ->  COH1 with high settings gets min 25/ max 65 / average 51 FPS

DOTA2, pretty modern game, runs as silk with 63% gpu utilization max...

this>
http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-7470M.67752.0.html

i would expect COH2 run with low settings just fine, but it is running like "lets render it real smooth for half second and then lets ruin it for another half second" , soldiers looking like retards with stroke

couldn't find any remedy anywhere

Shoulnt it be the other way around as in a higher number means newer version?

its only that imho ati/amd fucked up,  it was 6490M originally they have to rename it cause ppl were confused and could not find drivers (some new treaty that HP/ntb manufacturers have separate driver branches) and it was better initially than it shoud be i suppose

That games super taxing

@ ice, with ATI its the last three numbers that are really important, the first number is the series, second number power and performance (with even a single difference in number can mean a huge power increase) and the third number is the quality of the card within its series/price bracket.

7470 broken down.

7th generation model, 4= budget card, 7 higher quality.

6700

6th generation, 7 = higher end, 0 = lower quality

dunno if bad example

3 months ago i was playing planetside2 and on biggest areas with many players i was getting like 13 FPS, it was quite "playable" no kidding (i dont mind bit lag as i am not fps hardcore), even friends could not believe i was able to run it

sure, it was final product, but you know - imho it is valid to compare it to COH2 as there are sure more parallel computations in PS2 per sec (cca 60 players in area, fast constant fps movement rendering, stats, UI layers etc...) then in COH2

I somewhat believe they will polish it, but my remarks are regarding state of beta - in beta stage the usual low-level SW/HW side things tend to be 90% fixed, with only space for minor fine-tuning. Add to that SEGA instant-after-acquisition-gratification need and thats why i think more likely it will be COH 1.0 all over again.

They lifted the NDA on talking about the beta btw, still not allowed to post videos or screenshots though. Just in case anybody has been holding back on talking about it Smiley

sry, bad wording. 90% fixed i ment like logic, routines, hw/sw interaction is close and frozen to final state how it will be.  Remaining 10% is solely purpose of beta to iron bugs out and do fine-tuning, that is the definition of beta how i remember, but i agree last 5 years any industry got major changes in their "corporate wording and classification" of things.

btw i watched videos of COH2 4v4 mp on youtube like 2-3 days ago (thats why i installed) NotDamnAny fucks given lol

It really isn't 90% fixed to be honest, they're still changing a LOT of things.
Just look at the last update:

http://forums.sega.com/showthread.php?479289-General-Update-2

It's very much a true beta as they've shown themselves willing to mess with UI, core mechanics like blizzards, etc

Mmm, it's really weird when i'm spewing out logical things into a thread. I'm supposed to be the retarded crazy person.

Anyway, i'm sure they will make good on everything and make COH2 surpass vCOH.

If not, well we still have vCOH and EIRR, so it's not an issue.

Well, that's so long as the Steam version doesn't mess up.
Your sure they'll  make good ?
Just like SEGA made good on punishing gearbox for that abortion of a game A:CM.

I'm more leaning towards the phrase, "deal with it".

Have you even played COH 2 yet? Or are you just bashing it out of hand. I am not accusing you of this lightly even, i have played with nearly everyone from EIRR who had preordered/gotten a key, and you seem to be one of the most verbal of the haters, and yet i haven't even heard of anyone playing with you or seeing you. (I have even run into gamesguy and firesparks and other old eirr peoples)

Aliens Colonial Marines was bad, a few of the games Sega produced recently were bad (all by gearbox i think?), but this was made by Relic and most of it came out before its acquisition by Sega. (I might note that, the Total War series is also by Sega) Its gameplay isn't exactly Vcoh, which is fine, its why so many of us left for mods Vcoh was not perfect. Its UI is kinda bad, they changed it from Alpha. They have been listening and working with the community, you would know this if you have been playing. So i don't get whats with your attitude.

I've played 2 games on a friends account.
I'll admit I'm being a bit of a hater but that's hardly going to shape others oppinions.

I'm just afraid of being left with a mediocre fail of a game yet again (dow2 nostalgia)

For all intensive purposes I have low expectations for coh2 that way when its released and it happens to be good I won't be disappointed, again.

Sorry for the hate Spartan.

It's a natural phase, people,dislike change.

Though they'd complain more if they paid full price for vCoH again.

In some people's cases I'm sure it's that they dislike losing and they have memories of being undefeated in vCoH or some such bullhit.
