Is there any way to make this poor unit at least semi-useful?

I mean, in the current meta-game it is completely outgunned, outflanked, outrun and raped all the time in every possible way. Sure its armor is bouncy, but even a non-pen atg hit will reduce its health by a considerable amount...
In all honesty, I can't think of a role which STuG could currently play in a company and it makes me sad.
Any thoughts?

its a cheap mid tier unit.

its got the best axis MG.
It has silly modifiers vs sherman.

87 damage for the base gun with no doctrine buffs. with a 1.5 damage mod towards shermans/fireflies (not sure if it works for jumbo should).

So your 87 damage goes( i think) 130.5 damage a shot. now with the vet 3 i think its around 150 damage.

if we wanted to go farther and add heat i think it should be around 180 damage a shot(probably wrong seems freakishly high)
It has 1.25 damage mod towards m10s, and greyhounds(wtf).

Don't forgot the stug cost 8 pop with is pretty amazing on a tank that will hit infantry well enough and has a sweet MG. and cost less than a ostwind(MP wise).

your biggest problem right now is probably the current Meta.

the stug does have low health (400 i think).   you could raise the health to 500( m10) and raise the price to around 175 and w skirts make them cost 200 fuel.

I'm running vet 3 stug (It bounces off pershing shots lol) in my defensive company. It literally has no buffs and it's fine. Like Area said with vet 3, it gives a lot of pounding to sherman tanks.

I do agree on the HP and price increase.

If u raise the price axis wont have any mid/lower tier units to clog the gap

so you end with a 200 fuel stug and a 175 ostwind and a 80 fuel puma.

like the cromwell200 then stuart90 then stag 100

so what your missing is kinda that one unit that is in the middle.

You can't say something is fine if it is clearly under-represented in axis companies. There has to be a reason for that imo.

I know that its stats are pretty good (armor, modifiers, top MG), but the unit still feels weak. I agree that it is probably the direct result of the meta-game.

I could live with an experimental HP and price increase too. Just to see what happens.

StuG's fine, just a victim of current meta not suiting it. It was already buffed to shit with the range increase and the pop reduction - And it was a viable unit even before.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.
