Vehicles that are already going forwards respond poorly to move commands directly behind them, it can take a dozen clicks to try and get them to slow down and then start backing off. Especially if the vehicle has poor accel/decel (Basically, not a LV).

The way I used to do it, was to give a pointed move command (Hold right click, point in a direction, let go) directly on top of the vehicle to make it suddenly stop, then give commands to reverse as they'll immediately follow the command if they are at a standstill. It also bypassed the need to wait for them to slow down.

If CoH1 had a reverse command in the first place this wouldn't be an issue, but hey, 10 year old engine and all that.

TL;DR: Stop the tank before reversing for best results.

Need to clear up a mistake at the end of one of the games. I stated a sherman V is a Cromwell. I was incorrect, its a cromwell with an armor upgrade.
