Best part is, with all the bigoted and idiotic things he has said/proposed, he is still leading the polls in the Republican field at the moment.

Meanwhile in France, Le Pen's Front National ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Front_%28France%29 )
has secured the first round of regional elections for the far-right with the full result coming after the second round on Dec. 13 ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_regional_elections,_2015 ).
The shift in public opinion rides in the wake of the Paris attacks and anti-migrant sentiment sparked by scenes like these:
http://vidmax.com/video/128737-INVASION-Small-European-town-gets-absolutely-destroyed-by-miles-of-immigrants-marching-through
http://vidmax.com/video/128733-Massive-Pro-ISIS-rally-in-Germany-leaves-citizens-dumb-founded-

We also have the euro-skeptic and economically protectionist  far-right Law and Justice party recently having risen to power in Poland  with 37.6% of the vote ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_and_Justice ),

right-wingers gaining momentum in Austria through Islamophobia with 42% of the support of the under-30 demographic ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_Party_of_Austria ),

and in the Czech Republic with 55% of the vote ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milo%C5%A1_Zeman ,
http://theconversation.com/meet-milos-zeman-the-czech-republics-answer-to-donald-trump-52036 ).

Plus there are  some interesting new policies from Scandinavia with Norway's right-wing government ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conservative_Party_%28Norway%29 ) issuing payments to migrants willing to return to their country of origin ( http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/norway-paying-asylum-seekers-to-return-home-as-refugee-crisis-continues-a6763496.html ),

and the Finnish libertarian-leaning government ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Coalition_Party ) conducting a highly intriguing test of government minimum income subsidies that incentivize individuals to work on top of the handout and will minimize extensive government bureaucracy: http://www.vox.com/2015/12/8/9872554/finland-basic-income-experiment

To be fair, he has a point within a point. The west, and America in particular, is under constant threat by radical Islamic extremists. For our own national security, I cannot support taking in refugees of this faith, because as much as I hate to admit it, Ben Carson is right in this regard. Islam is, at its core, incompatible with Western Democracy. This is a faith whose worshippers pray 5 times a day to an idol of discrimination. If they were willing to reinterpret their faith in a way that is compatible with Western Democracy, then I would have no problem with them, but recent events just go to show that even Muslim women and children would be a liability.

Please don't mistake my "racism" if you want to call it that as hateful. I'm being realistic. So long as the Middle East is in a mindset more fitting of the Middle Ages, this is just how it has to be. I do empathize with the suffering of Syrian civilians, but as an American, I prioritize the safety of my own country. Bringing them here is just asking extremists to infiltrate our communities; they want to KILL US! I don't see why we should be responsible for other nations' citizens.

Oh, and I don't agree with Trump, but he is leading the polls because none of the other candidates project a stance of strength in dealing with radical Islam like him. If he won, at least he would try to do something. Oh, and 1 more thing, Trump may be racist, but seeing as he plans to abide by the system, he is not a fascist by definition. Otherwise, you'd have to say the same "used racism to rise to power" of every president before Reconstruction.

...I don't see why we should be responsible for other nations' citizens...

You know, your post MAY have had a point. If not for the fact that the US, UK and a whole host of other western countries have had a track record of heading over to middle eastern countries and raping them for resources, infrastructure and general way of life. A lot of places have been attacked, invaded, bombed the shit out of, and generally had "freedom and democracy" applied to them...

And people are naive enough to think we have no responsibility?

Even though many of the actions performed over there may have supposedly started in good faith and with good intentions (Removal of dictators, supposed removal of WMD's, introduction of democracy), in all cases the west has either long overdone it's stay or simply took the advantage/initiative to whole-sale rape the countries of potential resources. That or pander to a political agenda. Shit like ISIS/Daesh wouldn't even exist in the first place if not for western interference.

What's most disgusting to me though is that we can collectively afford to keep waging these wars, bring constant danger to ourselves and our people, and still we can't afford to look after our own people properly. In the UK we've got constant cuts to education, our national health service, the police and other branches of public service... Yet we can still keep cash flowing to drop bombs on other countries all day long.

So yeah... The middle east may still be operating in the middle ages, but what are we? It's a little funny perhaps, that at least they are honest about how they fuck their own people over.

In the UK, Christianity will be prevalent in a minority of the population- under 50%- by 2050, but Islam, which is the fastest growing religion, by comparison will be 11%-12% prevalent then. Therefore even in the long term the threat of islamization is not of the highest magnitude to the continuity of the current Western civilization. France, by contrast, has a muslim population of between 8 and 12 percent, while Marseille has over 15% muslims.
The vast majority of muslim families assimilate within 2-3 generations, if they aren't marginalized like in France, with third and fourth generations pretty much lacking any ultraorthodox influence from the barbarism found among approximately over 50% of the populations from Morocco to Pakistan.
We need to maintain our media, public relations, and security infrastructure to prevent exposure of vulnerable people to radicalism. This is why we keep an eye on mosques, for better or worse in terms of interaction with the muslim community, because these are the public institutions where the vulnerable people gather and those which purport the barbarism.
There are slow but happening reforms throughout the Middle East, like with Saudi Arabia recently allowing women to vote, despite women still not being able to drive or open a bank account without a man. Middle Eastern societies are from the Middle Ages with patriarchies the core institutions. The Middle East needs sexual, youth-rebellion, and feminist, cultural revolutions. The internet is helping more and more in this regard.

Good: Christianity has been responsible for far more slaughters and massacres in this world than Islam ever has.

I'm inclined to agree, though both behaved the exact same way 200 years ago before the age of revolutions in the 19th century in the West, before which Christianity behaved pretty much like ISIL. In the introduction to Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities if i recall, a little French boy who didn't take his hat off for a priests' procession passing down the street near Paris was tortured and killed.
