The armour change really does seem like a step backwards and i don't think i like it. Maybe remove the vet 2 change to infantry armour elite.

Another idea.
Is it possible to funnel LoS sort of like the way a recon plane reveals in a line? except have it only reach so far?

Because you could give him a Binocular ability where you target the ground and he faces that direction with increased LoS towards that point(but in a line, not a circle) give it an appropriate cooldown to prevent constant spamming. But make it so that it ends when you move the officer. it would make him better as a support unit with the Supervise, the offmap mortars and then a spotting ability.

I approve of this.

<3 officer <3 binocular ability.

in the short run i think a small muni decrease in his price would be great, the officer is pretty much the sole reason why i keep going back to defensive doctrine time and time again. officer + mortar = amazing kills. officer + 88 (though i don't think you can do that anymore =( ) is great. pretty much, just keep your officer near a group of support weapons and watch him help rack up kills. i always have one in my opening call in, and he hangs out with an MG, mortar, and pak, see a vehicle coming? supervise the pak, see troops coming supervise the MG, see a flanking maneuver coming? drop his shells and reposition your stuff, nothing going on? supervise your mortar and kill kill kill! rifles suppressed? stop supervising and let your officer get some easy kills. want to protect your 88? build a bunker next to it, and if troops get around put your officer in the bunker, and have him pick away at guys. i love the officer and any buffs he gets i will enjoy, but i can definitely see him getting a small price reduction.

If it's true that he STARTS with heroic armour then why the hell would i want elite armour at vet 2? that seems like a backwards step

Elite armor provides better protection.  Heroic armor provides the unsnipable uber crit table.

Officer at vet 2 has best of both worlds.

I have a suggestion here:

I think the Mp40 the Officer gets with Vet 2 is a nice decoration. Nothing else.
You won't hit anything.
Give it the Luger back but give it a Higher Accuracy, that would be nice. Like 25% more accuracy.

Or give it dual Lugers  Tongue

Well the luger at short distance is extremely hurtful. The best way for the officer to get kills is to use it on suppressed infantry. The critical tables are through the roof with the officer. Most yellow or red health units(not squad) will die if hit. I don't disagree, but I think it might be a little too powerful. 25% would hike it up to 75% chance to hit.

I didn't start it but i like it!

But seriously, i know the Luger is powerful, but give it a slight bonus with each level and keep it. The mp40 kills even less, although they are suppressed.

I like the luger, so much infact that when i had an officer able to go to Vet 2 i didn't. I'd be totally fine with him keeping the luger stats... but uhhh give him the RoF of the MP40... ok so it's too much but, meh. The luger is a good weapon, it looks impressive when he's capping people from range. An accuracy increase at vet 2 would be nice to see him do it more often.

Even 1 MP44 isn't very good. he's still required to gun the target down in health and then land a killing shot. Where as the luger has a chance to outright kill someone. I prefer the chance to insta kill infantry

LMG 42 anyone?Huh  He just just go awesome and gun down everything.  I've seen an LMG gun down 3 riflemen in a burst.

That's it. And the problem with the Mp40 is, it profits if you are behind cover and the enemy charges you.
But, i won't let my officer just stand there when rifles charge him, i will try and keep him at max range, that's where a Luger >>>> Mp40.
And 1 Mp40 won't do anywhere near as much damage as a Luger.

officer with lmg42 would look retarded but the idea is nice because lmg42 fits game wise to the officer since he is static superwise support weapons and can stop to help out with lmg when getting flanked
