This just comes down way too fast.  You literally cannot dodge it if it gets called down on any support weapon like an AT gun, and it annilates the weapon in one hit, killing any vet support weapon easilly.

In addition, the bigger problem is its in the blitz doctrine, which already has the best of everything else, storms, stuh, assault, blitz, tiger.  The hallmark weakness of blitz was that it doesn't get offmap arty.   The same way armor, tank hunters, and RSE don't have offmap arty.  So why in the hell did the already most ubiquitous and powerful doctrine in the game get a very powerful and completely new(not in vcoh) offmap?

When Royal Canadian artillery doesn't even have an offmap, why in the world does blitz, the doctrine notorious for having no offmaps, get one?

It makes no sense.  The ability is too good, and it definately should NOT be on blitz if the devs want to include it anyways.   Give it to terror or something.    I fail to see why blitz needs it when there are three other doctrines in the game without offmaps and those doctrines certainly need it more than blitz does with its invisible rocket ninjas.

In original Europe in Ruins it had no smoke.

EIR Doctrines do not follow the retail 'style.' So that arguement is invalid.

It's dodgeable, you just have to pay attention to what your troops say.

Well it was removed from EIR for a reason.

The rest of my points are valid.  Blitz already has stormtroopers, arguably one of the best elite infantry in the game, it has the stuh, one of the best tank call-ins, it has assault, which is a unique ability that rapes blobs and no other doctrine has a comparison to, it has blitzkreig, a very good ability for your entire army.   It even has a heavy tank in the form of the tiger, which combined with blitz, makes it very good.

Why does it need an offmap?    Tank hunters doesn't have an offmap.   RSE doesn't have an offmap, armor doesn't have an offmap.   Even RCA doesnt have an offmap at the moment.

All those doctrines are worse than blitz.  There is a reason whenever you see wehr its always blitz.   Its already the best doctrine, why buff it even more?

Move it to terror or defensive if you guys insist on including it.  It should NOT be in blitz.

Precision strike does seem like a somewhat poor idea. It's like a griefing weapon of insta rape from what I've heard...

Support team do have enough time to pack up and move before the shell land. I've seen a mortar pack up and get out of the way twice now.

I think GamesGuy has a huge argument. These offmaps are a little too cheap. Even if they have a limit.. With the PP increase per game on the edge, a veteran player will have far too many offmaps at their disposal. I'm of the belief that offmaps don't add a strategic element to this mod, they remove quite a bit of it and don't encourage people to branch out and push themselves to get better at it, just hide behind the perks.

Edit: Not that I mean to sound ungrateful, but I think this was a step backwards in some cases.

I have to agree with the above post, off maps for this mod may be a step in the wrong direction. Perhaps limiting off maps to 2 uses may be beneficial or have there cost scale as you purchase them.

I propose a max of two purchasable offmaps total for each player, combined.

Well then maybe you should enlighten us.. We're only telling you the way we the players see it and how its affecting us and how we see it affecting the game. We don't have the inside scoop on what you do, this isn't a  guessing game.

the whole time i have been playing EIRR i have not once said, or heard someone say "off map artillery would make this a lot better." so I'm really behind the idea of players having no more then 2 off maps per game.

Scyn:

1 remove the swearing.

2 The current version is not final, we needed to test offmaps and the scar coding behind it.  This intial roll-out is not final.

Thank-you for the input and opinions they are not going unnoticed.  Please consider they again only form part of the puzzle.  Unlike Old eir we will have a warmap- we will have expanded doctrines all of which are being coded and developed as you guys play.

I can see the frustration your feeling and yes its not a guessing game, and yes we know more about what is going on, I was once in your same position not 18 months ago and understand how you see this.  But i also understand why we do it this way.

Off maps are being looked at and we will be considering thier overall impact on the game.

Regards

Well actually Pak cloak is basicly removed. But the precision is quite funny. (Not for allies perhaps)

I dodged two Precision Strikes today. If you are paying attention, even without smoke; it's avoidable.

"Artillery; Get the Hell Down!" 4 seconds later BOOM!
"Krauts are throwing artillery at us" 4 seconds later BOOM!

I have to lol at the hypocrisy. Its ok for brits to have FOO, but its UNFAIR for axis to get off-maps right ? Sure whatever.

And Ak, before dodging gunnug, are you playing any axis ?
