make an editor where everyone can create his own hud

Not possible with the way we handle files, plus it would take a lot of work to create a program to do that.  You can create your own if you want to right now anyway, all you need to know is what you are doing,.

User interface, make it open the file, then go to a paint/photoshop like screen, then save it back to the file Shocked

Course the best thing i can do at programming is make it add numbers or stuff like that Tongue Determine resistance of resistors, do logs and shit, no idea how to make it enter files or that Sad I dont see how someone could make majestic programs with C or C++.

Gents, I present you with the new version of the In Game User Interface.

Still work in progress with some tidying up needing to be done, but overall; I am more happy with this one.

Looks great, good work!

Looks pretty good, but I still liked the old one.

Won't mind the change, really.

it looks absolutly great akra! one thing i want to ask...

now you say it's not possible to do faction specific IUs correct? now im just going to asume what im about to ask is hard coded and not possible, but i have to ask, because im tired of being confused when i play faction to faction.

each faction has it's own UI, at least the icons on the right, brits have 3, which are their 3 trucks, all others have 5, their HQ and 4 buildings. Now that's obviously something thats faction specific.

Now is it possible to make it so all 4 factions have the same tab icons on the right? because i imagine its slightly confusing to new players playing brits and all they see are the 3 truck icons, they dont really say "these are where your tanks go, this is your support units, ect" those icons on the right should match what you guys show in the launcher... of course, if it's possible to change.

Good point Riki, we still have to get that fixed, it's not 'intended' Tongue.

I liked the yellow one because it makes me think of old WW2 games, maybe it's not even similar to close combat 2's UI but it gives me warm feelings.

Can I make a suggestion?

The buttons for the different call-in tabs. Could we get something that looks more appropriate for each category?

For the Brits for example, the first threee are command truck icons, then the last three are blank.

Maybe something like...

Core = A Rifle
Assault = Bayonet
Infantry = Boot
Armour = Tank/Track/Wheel
Anti-Armour = AP Shell
Support = Shovel/Entrenching Tool

Just an idea. Maybe, as those ARE different for each faction, they could also be customised to that faction's equipment/units, etc.

Those icons will be changed eventually. I've got to sit down with our RGD guys and work out some kinks first though

A minor problem I have with the new HUD is that the icons (buttons et c.) implanted in it are seriously brighter than the HUD itself - the brightness offset is really noticeable to me. Care to kindly merge the garishness away whenever you have free time for it?

The icons haven't had any brightness changed to them; they are no brighter then the icons before.

Core = A clockwork wheel
Assault = Clenched fist
Infantry = A army boot
Armor = Small tank symbol
Anti armor  = a small at gun symbol
Support = a crosshair
