Whats does the rest of the community think?

The rest of the community thinks flanking a MG with rifles is too hard.  Its easier to spam mortars, rangers, or arty at it.

Thats what I was talking about earlier.  Americans played right is the most rewarding faction in the game, but they take a lot of effort compared to blobbing up grenadiers and rangers or spamming support weapons.

Yeah definitely i cant c how this could be harmful in anyway....smokaz offering to help people with americans inspired me to create an american account......

having played brit then WM and now AM i can c why people would prefer to play WM during their, learning curve period i guess, its just easy and more enjoyable. But i agree if u manage to defeat an axis team it is far more satisfying than simply owning while playing on an axis team.

Yeah Smokaz, I agree with you that Americans are a blast to play, and if ya need any help teaching people (an Axis player to play as punching bag, for example, or anything else) give me a whistle.  I could probably use some help myself. >.>

When you mean Axis you mean wehrmacht right?

The problem with the Americans is the transition from vCoH play style to EIR. In vCOH you can recycle your squads quickly and easily where as in EIR: you really can't afford to do that. This means players coming straight from vCoH hit a massive wall in terms of American playstyle as it doesn't match the vCoH one. Where as the Wehrmacht play style pretty much remains consistent from vCoH to EIR, which makes picking up the Wehrmacht a lot easier than the Americans.

The Americans aren't hard to play successfully; that just require you not to play them as you do in vCOH

I love playing Americans and PE personally. They have a more 'agressive' orientated nature which fits me better than sitting on my ass with an MG, some grens, a PAK and a nebel. Boring.

Smokaz man dont make assumptions based on your need to prove your point. I have played allies a lot more than you, i didnt actually start this mod last month and i have no desire to make allies look bad.
It may be fun for you to play allies sure. It was fun when i started this mod too, and i played airborne much like many others to play the underdog. I have went through all the doctrines and not once and everytime i went back to playing axis. Back in the days when i played 5-6 games per day (yay no lifer).

It was choices that narrowed down my interest in the end. Axis just have more choices, more options and offer a better chance to specialize in tactics and dwell more into the game of combined arms.
Riflemen and rangers doesnt cut it for me. I want volks, grens, stormies and kch. Sherman never appealed to me, like the p4 - ost - stuh combo does and it never will.

Additinally, lets just all take a look on assault weps on allies and axis then on overall unit upgrades and unit specialization. Wehr even have their standalone arti units that are non - doctrinal.
Its not the player's fault that relic made allies to be this way because they gave axis most of the candy, but again this is a mod it doesnt have to be this way.

We asked long time ago for more variety, and more choices. Responses such as allies just need their T4, allies are just all about blob, allies are fun you just dont know how to play them/are not playing them much, are all bullshit and people need to stfu before going into assumptions.
Why do allies have to be like this? Because it was written in the holy relic bible ?
How about adding more upgrades to them. Assault airborne, airborne with bars, riflemen with tompsons, rangers with bars, take away fire up, give some other abillity, inspire new tactics (than blob and fire up) test and improve make new things, make this more interesting. New units also.
Why is it always devs have looked so unwilling to consider new stuff back to fldash era, and its like a taboo issue here. Well im not implying you add the Maus or the Rat but new units that enhance gameplay and give more options in general. Also noone is asking for clones here. I dont ask for american stormies or whatever.
I truly hope the devs actually consider opinions and new ideas, in the extend of making a true colorful game for all the factions, instead of going strictly vcoh.

wher is not all about arty, well there are sume high arty strong points but mainly (at least for deffensive) is more about frontline combat and wearing down the enemy through constant bombardment and depleation of there troops, in the case of deffensive you want to makethe enemy afraid to attack your section of the map and hopfully grind there forces down to nothing against a strong solid deffense. wher can also provide the frontline force for most engaments due to its strong high health units and main battle tanks providing a nice varity of options on the frontline but sadly no wher inf can compair the allyed elite inf, but they do make up for it in versitility and resilance. once your brake the frontline though a wher army can quickly disinagrate as the layers of deffense and support are now extreamly valnrable meaning if you lose you lose hard.

i agree smokaz americans realy need more standard options, i would recomend looking at other mods in order to find new units and upgrades that could benifit this.

Schultz: The point is that you are portraying "americans as bland and boring" as a objective truth when it is in fact just a relationship which has evolved between you and the american faction. Whats the reason to assume a faction is more boring based on having less units? Americans have a lot of generalists, while wehr has more specialists. Am I to assume wehrmacht is "bland" because its almost impossible to run a wehr company without mg42s?

If they are gonna add new units to americans, I hope they do it carefully. Let's take a good and a bad example from the OMG mod: the spotter unit for americans (a single cheap rifle who can cloak) is a intelligent unit and adds to options (basically the same function as a luft kettenkrad) giving a alternative to the jeep.

Dumb unit: Assault engineers. Replaces a similar unit type in the same faction, has brute force/stats as its selling point and adds something unheard of in comparable units internally (heroic armor for american units).

We're always looking to improve out game; and honestly I think the American don't need more ''units'' they just need more options for players to experiment with like they do with Wehrmacht and PE.

Smokaz youre right on the relationship, it is one that has evolved throught time but with the premise of fun.
Its not a question of the number of units, but the whole set of units/upgrades and abilities.
When i first started wehrmacht being allied first i was amazed at the number of choices offered. A plethora of oportunities that really expand the tactical agenda. With wehrmacht even the mg42 was a choice, hence i only had 2 in my company, the second seeing action very rarely not because it was a beast but because i could use other units to fullfill my needs.

Agreed on the units, they need to fill gaps. I dont agree on the reinforcements idea anymore tbh. In my mind, every faction needs to be full on its own, and be exposed as a challenging and exciting exploration when you build up your company from the start..
