Finished downloading EIR, and now I'm in the launcher checking things out. I've been aware of EIR for about a year now and have downloaded in the past, but always decided to go for a quicker vcoh game than go through with EIR. Now I find myself with the time and I'm ready to start playing.

I'm looking for any help starting out, and I'm sure I'll lose plenty. Thanks for your help.

As boring as it may sound, watch some of the tournament replays that have been posted in the tournament section.

This will give you a preview of some of the most popular 2v2 maps in the mod (without having to play on them).  These are some of the best players in the mod teaming up to duke it out with each other, so you should wisely copy what they are doing.  If you see a particular company build you like in these replays, you can note the general makeup of it and make one yourself (or even better, hop onto vent and ask them for the particulars; if you're a new player they should be more than welcome to supply their builds).  Also, most of these companies are the typical strategies that are being run today in the mod, so you can see how enemy players counter (or fail to counter) them.  Lastly, these replays will (or at least should) give you some type of idea on how important teamwork is in this mod (hint: it's very important).

Jocu, Vent is important, even if you dont have a Mic thats not a worry, though its recommended when playing games its not necessary.
