I'm thinking of getting the HVAP rounds for Pershing but i don't know if they are on cooldown as an ability or is this just an additional damage increase vs tigers panthers king tigers and jagds.

Which one is it ?

no it is a constant buff like heat round i think.

just pershing gets extra

Pershing gets a new gun that works perminantly. Your penetration Vs. Tigers DOUBLES and you gain 25% more dmg vs tigers, efficiently making your pershing a tiger killer.

Against other targets the penetration increases are different. Depends on target.

BUTTT the thing is you loose 1.5 splash on pershing.

change permanent the gun afaik
3x penetration vs tigers/KTs compared normal pershing but reduced splash
no damage increase

but either normal pershings are doing good enough against tigers or panthers or the hvap pershing is still decent against inf with its small splash area (maybe because grens spread out less)

2.186x penetration vs tigers/KT means it penetrates tigers usually always (except maybe some hiden bad luck diceroll) and KTs 75% of time
and it has 25% damage increase means it does  172damage (jagd gun is 165 afaik)

and its splash area is reduced but better than a sherman splash due to more basic damage

and WTF when did the upgunned sherman splash changed to match exactly the 75mm splash while 76mm sherman is in vCOH supposed to have a lower splash?

no wonders why these upgunned shermans are so rape in eir (not even mentioned the lower reload time)

i think i would spam HVAP upgunned shermans that got up to 60% penetration vs Tigers and doing 105 damage (got penetration buff and dmg buff due to HVAP) while still heaving the good 75mm sherman splash

you can get 6 of it if your getting doublerepairs that company could be very nasty

+1 for bigdick about 76mm sherman.
they already received a small nerf a while ago but are still way better than in vcoh.

While I agree that Sherman Upgun should get a nerf in the splash damage I still have to protest against it.

No other upgrade gives negative penalties...why would Sherman upgun?

What I do agree is that Sherman 75mm needs a buff.

Meant non doctorine ones.

While 76mm could be made Doctorine ability.

Non doctrine or doctrinal, there is no difference in the way the upgrade works. It has absolutely nothing to do with it at all.

alright then, it is somewhat settled Tongue sherman 76mm doesn't need that huge splash, nerf for next patch. Moving on to the next issue!

also putting schrecks on grens reduces AI capability.

upgrading halftrack removes gunners and ability to hold troops


why 75mm buff? sherman already kills 2 grens per shot usually.

the shermans (75mm/76mm/76mm HVAP) got an approximate 72% better splash than a panzer IV but it shoots 20% slower

it does rape panthers,I had vet 2 panther and pak against vet2 pershing with HVAP and pershing killed panther withouth problem,and I dunno did he suffer 50% of dmg or even less...

I remember my vet 3 LW panther + BK assault. it could rush up to a pershing and beat it 1v1 without getting almost any damage. good old times...

On the note of HVAP, it's a constant ability, and it makes the Pershing useful against heavy armour. Dunno where people are getting 25% more damage against Tigers from, the description says 15% against it. If something is different in the background statistics, the launcher isn't saying so.

The price you pay is getting kicked in the nuts for anti-infantry, one of the outstanding parts of a normal Pershing. I'd expect the trade off to be great tbh.

Oh, and unless the values have changed since I last checked, standard Pershing penetration against Tigers is 50%, while Tigers against Pershings is 70%.

They get 25% because it says before HVAP that (ALL TANKS) get 10% increased damage, and the HVAP gets 15% increaced damage, So that equates to 25% increaced damage. I dont get how that was hard to figure out. But HVAP doesnt get the 33% pen increace ontop of the HVAP normal pen increace.

Buttt like I stated in the bug forum HVAP only does 10% increaced damage vs panther instead of the 25% it is supposed to get stated by the launcher.
