Alternate Vet Progression

What do you think of a different type of vet progression, rather than a full on bonus per level. Ex Sherman
Vet 1 Received Damage 0.85
Vet 2 Accuracy 1.15, Acceleration 1.2
Vet 3 Penetration 1.2, Damage 1.2
at each vet level you get a little bit like this
Vet 1 Rcv Dmg 0.95, Acc 1.05, Acc 1.05, Pen 1.05 Damage 1.05
Vet 2 Rcv Dmg 0.95, Acc 1.05, Acc 1.05, Pen 1.05 Damage 1.05
Vet 3 Rcv Dmg 0.95, Acc 1.05, Acc 1.05, Pen 1.05 Damage 1.05
you still get the same conclusion but it just steps up a bit at each level. (except acc pen and damage are now 1.15 instead of 1.2)

"I want proof!"
"I have proof!"
"Whatever, I'm still right"
Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

I actually like this, it's less extreme and promotes less of the 'FUUUUUUUUUUU I HAVE TO GRIND TO VET X TO GET BONUS X!!!!!!', and also removes a bit of the stress when you (or if you get stressed if you do) lose vet, because you're getting all aspects of the bonus every level. It also makes vet less potent, which I saw as a big postermark for EiR both here and when I heard about it elsewhere--persistent, but not extreme like vcoh.

I want to ensure we have a 100% decision on the process before we do the wipe.
If not, then I wipe, then someone gets something they shouldn't, then it gets abused, then the shit hits the fan and then I ban shab.

I'm just wondering if they would ever impliment the 5 levels of vet they were thinking about doing a while back.
Have 4 vets worth of stats, and if you manage to hit Vet 5, it gives you a new skin for your unit so it looks a lot more badass.
I thought that was a really good idea. Guess it was a bit too much effort for the Devs to actually get down to and do

New vet values (with the final removal of vet purchasing in the launcher, coming to an update near you soon) are going to be 15, 60, 150. Currently they're 10 40 80.
You guys can do the rest of the math yourselves. (Vet modifiers are in the unit list)
For example, vet 3 tiger is going to be (150 * 0.3 = 500)

Which lets be honest. Having a vet 5 is a big deal (because you make so it hardly happens), so course its going to be a target.
But you could use that AGAINST your enemies, Some of the lowbies will do ANYTHING to vet hunt it. So you could win by them simply throwing hoards of units to try and take it out.
I would LOVE to see Vet 5 skins tbh. Some will be harder to do (like Rifles/Volks ect) and some will be easier (For the tiger, take the ToV Campaign Black skinned tank. Can't find any pics of it though
)
So yeah. I would totally be down for Vet skins
Edit:- Unknown. Am I getting you right, You don't need to pay for vet anymore? If I am, what made EiR change their mind on paying for vet?

You already don't have to pay for vet anymore, but the mechanic to 'upgrade' in the launcher is still in place. (In case you didn't notice, it's free)
With the removal of the individual company grind system, veterency is going to be one of the prime means of persistency. Hence why we'll be making it really persistent again (allow users to gain it for free, ingame, rather than 'purchase' or 'upgrade in the launcher) Adds a bigger sense of achievement and persistence in regards to vet.
Later on we'll be reworking all bonuses and add in 2 additional vet levels. The new vet design is pretty much ready already, but finalising the doctrines has priority at the moment.

How wide is the range probably going to be on unit skins for V5s? I'm a 29th Inf Div fanatic myself (with an almost 400 page novel in the works centered around it), I'd love to have a shit ton of my vetwhore-d rifles running around with that <3 'Blue and Gray' ying-yang pasted all over em'....

We could probably look into the possibility of giving alternate skins as warmap rewards or whatever. But it's definitely not priority :p

People like it but there's nothing wrong with the current system, if it were to be implemented they'd have to completely redo and balance vet for EIR.

If I'm looking at this correctly, that wouldn't be the case Pony.
It would be a case of the vet gains *total* at vet 3, would be exactly the same. It's a case of which of the respective buffs you get at each level that would be different.
Tbh, I'm fine with vet how it stands at the moment. It tends to make you a bit more survivable at vet 1, makes you stand your ground better at vet 2, and let you give out some punishment at vet 3. My only gripe is that I have to go back to the launcher to get to the next veterancy level after vet 1.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
