most companies pretend like they care about modding, but in the end it doesnt make them any money. the only company that is serious about modding and was smart enough to take advantage of it was valve. with eirr i may not be in a rush to buy coh2 until eirr transfers over to coh2, and that doesnt make them money =P

If the transfer over to coh2 retains the same structure as DOW2 or even coh - should be a doddle to switch!

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

well maybe COH 2 will have some built in persistency. Either COHO was a test for future projects or now they just got too bitter with persistent units.

Relic literally broke mods in one of their patches in the name of "fighting hacks".

oh i remember that. wouldn't be the first time either. that happened with Battlefield Vietnam and BF2. its fucking bad enough that if i dont have my CoH cd with me, and no online connection that i cant play, but whats worse is when you cant play your favorite mod, and you have to wait for the company to address it which can take anywhere from 2 weeks to a month in some cases.

You forget Tripwire Interactive (Red Orchestra, Ostfront 1941-45, and soon to be Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad), which rose FROM a mod Tongue.

If not, then I wipe, then someone gets something they shouldn't, then it gets abused, then the shit hits the fan and then I ban shab.

Blizzard anyone....

No matter what they "do" for the community, Blizzard's #1 priority is horribly violating your wallet.

Which is a completely bad thing because a company making money by selling a good they create is such a despicable act right?

Deciding to divide a full game into 3 equally-priced expansions solely to make $180 from its fanatical adherents kind of pushes the boundaries of business ethics in my opinion.

Dude..... I have yet to see a RTS Developer that can be close to rival Wings of Liberty campaign: it's long, extremely polished, perfect gameplay, and you also get an awesome multiplayer.

I would definitely pay for another 30 mission AAA RTS campaign without a second thought.

Whatever, that's just my personal opinion on the company and if you are willing to pay for their products, good for you.

I often question why people bother trying to convince each other of a certain stance on an issue on the internet

Why DON'T I question it?

Seriously though, this needs to end, last thing we need is a philosophical discussion on these forums.

It would be unethical to allow fools to keep their money.
