That was more Brn quitting cause I was changing the rules out from under him.

We still have the revised rules laying around if anyone wants to give it a go at running the thing again. Smiley

Yeah there was alot of exploitable systems in the rough campaign we ran. But it was a good learning experience.

the Rapid Deployment companies against Standard PE companies was bat hit stupid crazy hard. I can't believe I won any games. going in every fight with 2-3K Resources leftover.

we just had to make the risk/reward better. I still smile every time I look at the turn maps and having to do them. Especially turn 4. Cheesy

I wish it wouldlve gone on long enough so we could've given ROFL's flash map a try.

Time for a warmap, or another campaign, or a tournament.

Other then rocket arty and WP, we can agree that the offmaps are laregely balanced yes? They are, actually, supposed to take this long to drop. When you use an offmap, its supposed to be dropped on either A) a doomfort that CANNOT move in time (glob of mgs and atgs, not mobile foot soldiers or tanks) or B) on a sector that you know/suspect the opponent isnt hovering over--if you drop it and his screen isnt centered on the spot, itd be hard for him to gtfo in time--thats why offmaps work so great with distractions. Steal his attention, drop offmap when he looks away, profit.

Its a theorycraft but w.e

Delay rocket arty by 2-5 seconds, increase WP DoT damage to match Firestorm and everyone goes home happy, yes?.

Well that and the x-7 ability to miss or hit a full speed moving tanks, and kill it b/c of major splash.

If we are crying about hard to dodge offmaps, then Strafe and Bombing Run need longer times on small maps. They hit before the smoke does on some 2v2's.

It would be better if it would be turned into a suppressing offmap instead of instant gibbing a lone Luft TBsquad in seckonds type of offmap

what if all/most off maps were made to temporary  suppress, slow, or reduce stats? Instead of  instant gibbs.

Technically no off-map is designed to 'gib' (certainly not in COH with the retreat mechanic) unless you have poor micro. They're tactical, i.e intended to break a defensive line or infantry assault.

I'd say bombing runs and X-7's are most certainly designed to fuck your shit up (See: gib)  if they hit their mark full on.

Simplest way to look at it is this - Most conventional artillery offmaps, if you sit still, you do statistically speaking have a chance of bugger all happening to you. This statistical chance is somewhere around shagging the pope I imagine, but the chance is there none the less.

A bombing run or an X-7 on the other hand, will deal it's full amount of damage to it's intended target every single time without fail under proper placement and the target does not move.

Yes, I'm well aware that hoping a target being bombed or targetted for a missle strike not moving is idiotic, but it's purely to outline the idea that certain offmaps ARE designed to deal pure damage. Unknown said technically no off-map is designed to do that. :p

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.
