Why take pride in your heritage?
Other than the fallacious "because it's a good thing to do" - I've literally never heard anyone tell me a good reason why it should be done at all.

Because if a bunch of Germans didn't take pride in their heritage 70 years ago you would find EIR rather boring with only 1 faction

Because if you can brush aside the stereotypical/fanatical bullshit, most countries have a good piece of heritage to be proud of underneath it.

Unfortunately, a lot of people just use it as a way to consider themselves better than others.

E.g. An American looking down on a Frenchman, claiming har, my country is bigger and better than yours, when really that American should be thinking damn, it's good to be an American when I can stand for freedom, peace, BBQ's and beer.

(This is all theoretically speaking, we all know Americans don't stand for even half of that these days, but it's just an example to be used)
