If your not responsible for anything do us a favour and drop the developer tag before a new player mistakes you for being someone of authority - Which would be very bad after one of your introductions.
Whether you realise it or not, one members actions on the dev team have an impact on the rest of them. Simply wearing that tag means you represent a part of the dev team so anything you say or do can reflect on the entirety of said team.
While the older players know that most what you say shouldn't be taken with any weight, new people do not.
Simple situation for you: You give a new guy an attitude, the new guy sees that a dev has gave him an attitude, and now wonders or perhaps even actively thinks that the entire dev team is a bunch of prats. Bad mojo.
OR
Remove the sand from your vagina. Much simpler then having to suffer lectures.
