Watching an episode of Lock n' Loaded with R. Lee Ermy and they were talking about armored veicles and talked about the M8. Apparently the M8 was so quiet that it was nicknamed Patton's Ghost.

Well I got to thinking and figured I'd throw this in for a doctrine idea. Obviously it'd have to be for armor. I'm thinking it would have to be part of a T3 or T4.

If it was a T4 it would be great to give hellcat the ability to move while cloaked (but reduce the speed significantly) and give the greyhound moving cloak (with speed reduction as well).

I like the good intentions behind the idea Riki, but really...

Do we have to explain how unbelievably broken moving cloak on any form of vehicle would be?

Trust me, if you think ganking Storm Shrecks is bad, wait until you see what happens when 3 Hellcats with Ambush bonuses suddenly decloak on your flank AND have the speed to get out before most turrets worth its salt can get a fix on you.

might be different, no other vehicles i know of can move while cloaked.

although maybe an ability which makes it so it can't be seen on the minimap and tac map would be just as useful

Good points all around, the idea of them not showing up on the maps would be great, also make it so they cant be seen through off maps or awarenes abilities as well, would be far easier to balance than my original suggestion.

What would be so terrible about an M8 having a moving cloak? M18 would be pretty lame, sure, but M8 is hardly fearsome...At least ARMOR companies could use ARMOR as their main force without having to worry about constantly being storm ganked or pak raped, in addition to getting pwnt by any axis LV/armor. Make it an upgrade, though, that excludes it carrying mines. Last thing we need is sneeky mines.

I stick m8 near spawn,wait to see till you call mortar/sniper or something expensive that can be quickly killed,kill then escape with m8 ...sounds just about right  Roll Eyes
I am about to kill m8 with final shot,puff,m8 activates cloaking shield,no more m8 on the field  Roll Eyes then buzzes off to safely repair.
why not give it cloak like stug/m18/hetzer ...wanna cloak with vehicle,be still!
