English culture
«

I have a school assignment to write about a fictionalized person in a English speaking country, basically just to get some insight in their culture so I was hoping that someone could pinpoint the funny or annoying or other important parts of your culture or everyday life to help me out?

Sharks are not monsters Henley, they are cute, cuddly and misunderstood. They love humans. sometimes they love TOO much. They love people so much that sometimes their kisses separate people into two flailing pieces which are consumed by other sharks in a frenzy of peace and joy.

I can start by telling you a little about the culture over here in Sweden.
We drink a lot of milk and coffee, so on the hot summer day when you go to the beach you will see people drinking steaming hot coffee.
and milk is what we drink for every meal, so when you go to the local mcdonalds they will ask: do you want milk or do you want coca-cola with milk?
The whole man and wife thing works a bit different too, Your wife watches TV while you look after the kids. Housewives are non-existent and Feminists feel that it's their right to have better job positions than men regardless of capability and the majority agrees that this sounds reasonable.
All winter you dream of what you will do in summer, and summer is the warmest day of the year, so if you went shopping you'll have to hurry home before the ice cream freezes.
People only wear black, grey or white clothing and people who wear different colors are regarded as exhibitionists.
When someone asks you for "sex" you assume they mean half-a-dozen.
Instead of good morning we say good moron. You then have to answer with "thank you for acknowledging"
It's not weird for 15 year old girls to dress up like hookers. In fact it's how all of them dress. It's also not unusual for girls to use their shirt as both a shirt and a skirt, so it looks like they have a really short skirt.
Religious values are replaced by common sense and moral values.
Most people are pacifists/cowards.

america would be hard to describe because the states sometimes act like countries and different dialetics, cultures, religions, etc. You can't box us.
someone from new york will be wildly diff than someone from california

"I want proof!"
"I have proof!"
"Whatever, I'm still right"
Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

Yeah but I only need the perspective of one person. Liek what buildings you pass on your way to work, what food you like etc. Simple stuff.

Yeah the thing is the US is the size of europe, so there's so much room for so many different cultures.
So in that regard I think the US would be a tough place to do, simply because it's so varied. ive lived all over the US, if you like I could tell you about the tropical paradise that is Hawaii, living in the wine region of california, the sticks in north carolina, the farmland areas of northern new york near canada, the hustle and bustle of the great new york city, or about the filth hole that is new jersey. But for what you are doing I believe hawaii and NYC would be the most interesting.
also im at work on a slow night, so i have nothing better to do for the next few hours.
