Having used the GMC for a few games, I've found that inherently, it's not a bad unit. It does have one big glaring problem though.

It's survivability. The thing has the shitty pathing of a half-track, the health of a standard half-track (So it dies in two pak shots) and most irritatingly... The armour of a half-track.

It needs a little nudge to make it just right. Having a 120 Fuel investment go poof in two pak shots is pretty damned harsh - And unless you baby it like a total bitch then it can happen more often than you'd want.

A slight health increase to make it able to withstand the second pak round, or actually getting worthwhile armour (M8 comes to mind) would make the GMC worth it's investment. The GMC would still be vulnerable if caught, but it wouldn't keep dying to a sneeze.

Actual accuracy and damage seems fine tbh. It can consistently pick off a guy from a squad, or do some serious hurt against blobbers/clumping squads. Just needs a little push on it's survivability.

That, or make it as nimble as an M8.

To sum up, the GMC could use ONE of the following:

Slight increase of health to survive a second pak round (Bout 60-80 health should do it)
Armour change to M8
Better pathing (Turn rate of M8 comes to mind)

End note: Leave the Stummel out of this. I'd have commented on that too if I'd have used it, but I haven't.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

I like the GMC alot. I run 4 but yes I agree that it's survival is a little bad. It's not like the Quad in that you can stay mobile and survive. While I typically don't lose my GMC's to Paks, it does happen and the damage from 1 Pak necessitates a repair use.

like the m8 armor, id probably use it if it had that. the problem is, it's a HT, but it's not mobile like a HT. quad dies quick but you can attack easily from any angle. with gmc you have to move then turn and such.

i had bad experiences with GMC being super weak in prior patches. I would like to try it again if it wasnt so expensive and so easy to blow up. I agree with armor buff or health increase or cheaper cost

Well if you're going to buff the GMC then how about making the stummel not a worthless piece of shit?

Read my end note.

If you want to provide me with the means to use the Stummel and try it out to see it's performance and how it can be brought into line, then by all means, give me an account to do it.

Otherwise, find somebody with a bit of experience in the unit or do some playing with it yourself and find out what it currently can or cannot do.

I'll end anything I have to say about the Stummel on that note... If you want a discussion about it, feel free to create a thread for it.

On topic, here's an interesting note for you: The quad has more health than the standard half-track. Only about 60 or so more, but it's enough to make a difference.

You don't even need 1 game to have them. Anyone can try them anytime as it stands

Then I'll give them a try later on and see how they roll out and what needs to be done to them.

Irrelevant to topic, go make a thread about the Stummel for fucks sake.

The GMC is nice if babied it can get lots of inf kills but buffing the armor would make its performance more in line with it's cost in my opinion.

Throwing "GMCs get M8 armor" into locked and loaded could be pretty sweet though. Currently there is nothing that buffs GMCs in any of the doctrine unlocks.

You shouldn't have to get a doctrine unlock to make a unit cost-effective.

Doctrines should make units better at what they already do, not fill in for a gap.

HP increase and a pathing boost. It costs more then an M8, but I can use an M8 to much greater effect. The GMC is too flimsy and is playing the WM "Ima pew pew shoost shoost at youz from long range" game which it looses to the Axis' great number of long ranged AT assets. Being a halftrack, even shrecks scare it off.

I'd prefer an armor boost over health because the repair on it already blows.

With doctrine boosts it would be nice to see it get additional buffs from something in Inf doctrine.

Tbf, it's vet makes up for it's low health as it gets 1.15 and then 1.2 at vet 2 and vet 3 respectively.

It could just do with the M8 armour instead of that shitty half-track armour.
