Well it's not really rps to be honest... Helicopters can kill anything with relative easy, but AA downs helicopters just as fast for example.
AT infartry can butcher tanks if they are close enough to use their RPGs/LAW's, but get annihilated by anything if they are spotted.

It's that kind of balance

I recommend preordering through Steam so you can play with us. Nice thing it's not even a full game price (coming it at 39.99 USD).

My new favorite wargame, up there with EIRR with tons of unique ways to play and build your companies. ^^

I'll be uploading some vids later on this week, my favorite was a game with Lefort, 2v2.

He was French and I was USA Nato against Warsaw (Russians and East Germans) and they attempted to bum rush an open field with his French Legionaires... and I had two Abrams and 2 Dragon AT squads on a ridge overlooking it... Abrams scored 14 tank kills while the infantry popped a bunch of AA units... which let Lefort bring in some French Autocannon equipped helicopters to mop up the T-52s and T-60 Russian tanks with ease... then finally counter-pushed with a column of US riflemen (40 man platoon) backed up by M113 APCs ^^

I've been looking for a good quality modern war game for quite some time...

I might have to get in on these shenanigans if it gets hit by a steam sale.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

Why would it hit a steam sale?  The game is going to be released in a week and its already below normal pricing.  Just pick up the game.

So far it's me, Salan, Mal, Pudding, Jodomar, Computer, Niko, Lefort and a few others.  It's the closest RTS to 'simulation' without losing any of the fun or tactics, and I think it's brilliant how they make the sectors.  You have 'income' sectors which provide you more... I guess we can call them 'money' to requisition units and other sectors that are 'reinforcement' zones that call in troops closer to the field... and the nice thing it shows an arrow where they come in from the map from.. alot of strategy involves say if you can't take the sector, to just 'ambush' along the reinforcement route and prevent him from getting supplies (and supplies are VERY important).

One really good game I took this hill with about 200+ US riflemen and rangers and I could easily defeat any tank rush or air attack on my position... but the enemy surrounded the hill with tanks and cut me off.  Salan had to get a few Super Chinooks to fly me in much needed supplies of TOW missiles as they kept throwing cheap armor to over run my position and making me go through what few missiles i had left, yet they had enough troops around my position to prevent any of my allies from getting much needed heavy armor to assist me.

And that is just one game Tongue

DO EET ZONTAR.

It's pretty fun, so many ways to 'spec' your company, and so many nations and their unique units.

Malgaroth for example loves his West Germans, so he uses things like Jaegers (infantry) and Leopard 2 tanks.

I prefer my Americans, so I use things like US Riflemen, Rangers, Delta Force; Bradleys are my favorite unit along with the Patton Tank ^^

The fact that a game of this size has use for infantry reels me in real well. How much is it? Maybe I can do some work around town for some money and see if I can get it.

It's on Steam (and the game will require Steam anyways regardless of where you buy it).  It's 39.99.  Buying now gets you immediate access into the multiplayer beta (with all factions/units available).

Infantry are amazing in the game, very powerful for their cost and one of the best units to assault a position with, just because a squad of 40 guys will take a lot of hits as opposed to a single 'vehicle' that can be popped.. like how EIRR is with a squad over a single tank, you know?

And there is a lot of variety in the infantry too.  Long range AT infantry, short range LAW infantry, special forces (Who have half as many men but are considered recon infantry and can wipe the floor with any other infantry unit).

I think my best game with them was two squads of 20 taking out 15 tanks, a bunch of AA and about 60+ ruskies before they brought in helicopters to finally kick them out of a spot they were ambushing from.  They are beasts. ^^
