Wouldn't it be easier to just make a copy of Stormtrooper cloak and increase the speed penalty? I mean that seems like the obvious and simple solution to a simple problem.

AFAIK it doesn't work like that. Walk while cloaked is already the slowest possible speed 'setting'. (You can't just decrease speed by a said %, there's only a few stances which provide units a given speed)

So no, it really isn't obvious nor is it simple.

Leo can correct us, but I believe unknown is correct. You have crawl, walk or sprint for options. there is also the cloak speed, but I don't know what they call that tbh.

Okey lez get one thing straight its not a major nerf, its an inconvenience, the problem i discussed yesterday is to get this info to the new guys, since if they get here and see "oooo moving cloak", and then having to realize the fjs cant shoot in that situation then its going to cause a smidgen of frustration (epic nuke demolition if leo caliber)

Agree. Needs something to replace it, not because you can't fire from cloak, but because crawl is buggy and makes the whole thing useless.

Another thing that hasnt been tried is giving a insane incremental accuracy modifier with a large aura. Meaning that they wouldn't be really good vs that single riflesquad, but the 3-4 riflesquad attack could be continually dented by a single fsj squad just sitting at range shooting.

Yes, we all would wish that the falls would shoot out of their prone cloak, but that just cant seem to be code-able. So until that time where we do find out how to do it, use the ability how it was to be intended.

Use evasive maneuvers prone cloak to position your falls into the most destructive ambush position possible, unseen.

Say what!!!

The current Airborne doctrine has been out for almost 6 months. No where do you have the ability to cloak your mainline infantry in that doctrine.
If you are comparing abilities that do not even exist in the game anymore, then it is pointless. We do not balance current units with what may or may not have been implemented 3 years ago.....LOL

The current AB doctrine has an upper  T4 unlock that allows support teams to cloak in cover. Good luck using that in a mobile assault....lol

tank its the bottom T4 and its only the hmg, mortar and atg, 2 parts of that t4 dont even work.

and the old t3 unlock, AB had to stand still and couldn't move at all. although they could cloak anywhere, they still couldn't move, while FJ's can move AND get ambush bonuses. I'd take that over standing still cloak

My bad on the upper T4 thing. I meant the top group of T's as apposed to the bottom T's unlocks

That was exactly my point. It gives some support teams cloak, not mainline infantry. Old AB unlocks mean fuck all if we are talking about balancing a current unit.
