At least it should be the same as the tanks. The crew can't repair and operate in firemode at the same time.  Wink

Second, there really isn't anything you can do with a flak if they have 2+ howitzers on the field, which is ALWAYS on 3v3 or 4v4, sometimes even on 2v2. The flak doesn't have the ability to recooperate from the damage, it can't run away like you can with your other units, you can't support it against artillery.

so what you're arguing here is a unit designed to counter support weapons such as the 88 shouldnt be able to do it effectively?

88 Artillery nukes the shit out of ATG's, MG's and mortars. The arty has very low horizontal drift so it's scatter is more or less reserved for vertical drift, making it shockingly accurate on it's first round.

As far as I'm aware the Medic Bunker will repair most common support weapons.

Your not supposed to counter a 25 Pounder with an 88. The very fact that you can attempt to destroy your hard counter with the 88 is concerning in and of itself.

The fact that an 88 cannot be healed is the crux of a doom fort. If you could keep healing the 88 itself all you'd ever need to run is an 88 or two, MG's, Mortars and endless waves of recrew/faust volks.

Ah I like the ideas some of you are coming up with.

I would like a cheap repair kit for the flak. It would be risky to repair, leaving the flak vulnerable for a time, but rewarding good defensive play.

Also I would love repair bunkers!

Honestly I would like it if repairing was allowed in EIR. It is the only thing that attracted me to play OMG mod a few times. Of course the system would have to be tweaked/redesigned accordingly, but it is just satisfying to me seeing my pioneers take out their tools and actually do their role lol. (I'm an aspiring mechanical engineer after all)

you see right now the only way to stop the flak from being arty-murdered on the spot is to push HARD and get to their arty pieces to destroy them, and that's not how a defensive company should have to play. I want to be able to either counter battery to a certain extent, or to at least heal up in between barrages a few times. Otherwise what's the point of a doom fort? I mean you do realize the germans had just as much arty, the fh18, sfh18, wespe, hummel, panzerwerfer, etc.

Hicks by no means is the flak able to do anything but scratch 25 pounders with it's arty fire, do not be afraid lol. Also that is the whole point of a doom fort, to be able to heal it back up/reinforce it with men before the horde of allies come back! The only thing that can't be recooperated is the central piece, the flak unfortunately. More of a kitty fort now lol.

Also Smokaz you know if you decrew the flak the men retreat right? I'm sure they could make it so you can only repair the flak with men on it, and if you decrew then the repair is stopped and wasted.

I want my howies to have a direct fire mode. And grant green cover please?! And a button i can press to instantly blow up the hardcounter to my units, so I don't have to micro more. Can my MG nest autoheal too?

I know, lets make all allied units die as soon as they hit the field, then the doomfort can be super effective! You can play coh, eat a blowl of lucky charms, and jerk off all at the same time!

This sucks. Tanks can repair but the flak can't. With allied support spam it already dies fast unless you support spam back.

I'm ditchin my defensive company because of this. 225 fuel for a stationary uber ATG is expensive, but that was fine before. You get artied to hell and can't recover because of no repair. I guess it's not good enough for the current meta anymore.

Guess I'm just going to level a SE coy now

Just wondering what brought this change about?

I think it would be perfectly reasonable to repair the flak with a med bunker and personally I thought it was dumb that it can't.
