Undead, in the battle before that Me, Kiwa and Collosus went triple defensive against Smokas, Myst and EIRRmod
I, Kiwa and Col have little to no experience with defensive coy and We won,hands down with half of our 88's to spare.


This made it seem pretty easy to me in any case. It does not take skill to plop down giant area denial weapons that also act as artillery and then supplement them with double mines, goliaths, officers and super mg bunkers.  Grin

Niko that has nothing to do with defensive in particular. That's just stacking, and there's a reason people hate it.

You can run around with 6 hvap pershings and troll people. Or ride around with 9 hvap m10s lulcrushing inf and raping armor. Is there much skill to that?

You can have an 8 tiger start in a 4v4 with 4 players using joint operations, with each player having 11 pop leftover for inf or support. Each axis player would start with 41 pop.

You can have a 4v4 with 4 rca players with dozens of howitzers/priests firing every goddamn 30s with regular barrage and creeping barrage. THAT was an aggravating match. Decimated everything..

Do any of those take skill?

If anything, make it so that you cannot have more than 2 players of the same doctrine in a game.

This is where your incorrect.

The max pop you can pull off is 25+2+2+2+2 = 33 pop max. In a 4 v 4, JO gives +2 pop per player.

If you do Axis Attack, that gets an extra 3 pop going to 36 max. Your looking at 2 Tigers and a Minesweeper normal, or 2 Tigers and 2 Pio's on Axis Attack.

Defensive doctrine with flak88s and arty on them takes FAR less effort to use than to counter it. It does not matter if we call it op or not, the sentence above is true. I'm not saying def coy is easy. It's only easy if u are playing at least 3v3, and you have flak arty. I don't know if you have already played against Icelandic's def coy. He is not using flaks, still plays really well with it. Now that actually takes skill. But putting up a flak, artying with it, and running around with some inf+officer is just lame. It just gets even worse if you aren't ready for it, and don't have enough indirect fire support. Not to mention, that even 105s tend to fail pretty hard against them... you are lucky if 1 shell hit the flak. The crew MIGHT die, but the gun still has shittons of hp. Now THAT'S the problem.

Oh the tooltip in launcher is vague, my point remains the same.

Warth, allied howitzers are the same pop and unlike 88's they dont blow the crap out of anything that rushes it, not to mention that the 88 can counterbarrage a howie with ease.

Allied arty dont even destroy it, bro. At best you have 5 seconds before some handy squad recrews it.

Howie don't negate armor in a 100 circle radius while it's ability is recharging.

Played against Flak spam last night in a 4v4.

We killed 7 Flaks and there was 2 remaining on the field at game end. the Allies lost but we took a terrible toll on the Axis. To be honest it was the 2 Super heavies that held us up from advaning into the Flaks. We had no actually problem taking or killing flaks(Actually there is a 4 player coordinated event in the match where we capture 2 Flaks and decrew 2 more. Resulting in the destruction of 4 Flaks)



Anything in Moderation is fine, Anything in the extreme is hard to handle. CoH will always work that way, especially with some of the mechanics the game has in place.

The comparison of Flak to Howitzer extends only as far as the 8 population. A howitzer will outrange an 88.(and mine move so thats a bonus) Sometimes you get lucky and crit the whole crew. Sometimes you don't and 9 shells don't cut it. It's largely a tossup when you fire blind

Bringing allied offmaps as an argument is totally stupid, since not even 105 offmap will kill the gun, only the crew, whereas the def rocket barrage destroys the 105 ANYTIME.. Would you really choose the 105 over the flak with arty, or are you just desperately trying to prove your point? If yes, you are even more stupid than I've ever imagined....

The problem is the gratifyingly horrible change to the 88 and at guns which clearly ended up buffing the 88 vs at guns and not making them equally "bad" against each other. If this was reverted it would be less of a issue, but this clearly brought arty 88s over the brink from noticeable to crystal clearly a problem.
