oh man hicks this is an awesome idea! if it was put in where simple every mine was worth 25, and butterflys were 0. an placing a basic mine was 25, that would be amazing, then make it more complex as time goes on.

Placement = 50 fuel
Butterfly = 5/10 fuel
Crippling/Hawkins/Firecracker = 10/20 fuel
Mine = 50 fuel
Teller = 75/50 fuel

Yes, I know it's been suggested before, but it has been overlooked or done in a round-about way. I'm getting it up there front and centre without over complicating it whilst having a nice strong base to work with.

I'd post a picture of my face slamming into my keyboard, breaking it in half because I've faceplanted it with that much force.
The idea's to add a fresh new twist to the usual gameplay. What's normally taken for granted is now a potential weapon for your enemy (Or for you, if your smart).
Also, why would it take the direct blessings of high command for your guys to figure out how to put that lump of explosives back into the ground, to which they have just disarmed and pulled out of it? o.o

Sorry if my thoughts push you into such a keyboard breaking frenzy. I think it is a coll idea, but not one that should become a automatic given in game play. Sorry, just my thoughts.
I do think it would be a cool ability if earned by the play via warmap cards.

The problem is, if only one side can do it, then shit starts getting problematic.
IE, it gets unbalanced.
Hypothetical situation: Scorched Earth player with saturation minefields out the wazoo gets his hands on the grand authority from Whermacht high command to allow their minesweepers to pick up enemy mines.
Not only are you dealing with an opponent that can spread mines bloody everywhere, but now they can use yours against you. Yes, you can do standard tactics of detection and removal... But an already (arguably) annoying tactic has just become twice as worse.
But if you can both do it? Suddenly any placed mines on the battlefield are a commodity. Shit, you can even use an obviously placed mine as juicy bait directly to get rid of opposing sweepers so you can monopolise on any placed ones yourself.
If only one side can do it though? (Lets face it, the chances of two opponents having that same card probably isn't that high) Then meh.
*Proceeds to find a suitable sacrificial keyboard*

i like it as a warmap ability. It seems warmap cards will be available to all in a good supply, so why not?
would i rather it be a brand new thing to all? Yeah but if its too much trouble, a warmap card is the next best option

im with hicks, but since this is all brain storming here let's say this.
everyone is given the ability to disarm mines and place mines. but warmap cards or doctrine abilities would allow you to place other things.
lets say terror allows you to use 100fu to make goliaths, armor gets the ability to put out m8 mines, commandos get butterfly bombs, or something along those lines.
i just pulled that all out of my ass, there was no thought in what doctrine gets what btw.

Last time I was developing the mod with EIRRMOD we agreed that there should be three categories with offmaps being a category you could only use one card on every battle. We also figured out that one of the cards will be a card that gives your early deployment from the doctrine to all teammates. Pretty nifty if for instance, the PE vehicle only engagement was shared with wehr making all three of the team start with pumas maybe?

I'd think they would have a small anti personnel mine that does very limited damage but suppresses the unit so your stens could get close and kill it.
