For gods sake, yes it does make sense to have this in EIR, for transportation purposes. This would really allow armor company and maybe even PE to be a lot more mobile. Heck, it would allow everyone to be a lot more mobile. Fine let the infantry have red cover on it, but for transport you can bet your ass people are gonna use it

Wait, they removed all the halftracks from the game?

And while we are at it, why can't I cram 6 people onto a bike then?

It makes no historical sense? Seems legit as an argument for an online game that is so close to being realistic. Oh god why.jpg

Halftracks should be cheaper, no one uses them for anything other than mobile sniper protection.

Sharks are not monsters Henley, they are cute, cuddly and misunderstood. They love humans. sometimes they love TOO much. They love people so much that sometimes their kisses separate people into two flailing pieces which are consumed by other sharks in a frenzy of peace and joy.

If they were cheaper you would run them instead of Infantry...

They should be cheaper IF purchased as an UPGRADE for a squad of infantry.

i use them at least when i play americans, a halftrack with two stickies in it is a nasty suprise for axis heavy armor.

Oh you don't want to see me overreacting. Infact I am stunned because after all these years there are still people to be found on this forum who use realism and historical things as an argument for balance.

That argument is 100% full retard, and so are you for using it.

oh ho ho, ok then tell me why does ANY faction need tanks capable of carrying infantry, and how can you even bring balance in? its a whole new gameplay feature a whole new type of thing to do and noone can predict wether it will be good for balance at all.

Simplest solution.

Don't do it.

Tie in a Halftrack upgrade to Infantry, costs less than a seperate HT. Yay incentive and not spammable.

So a tank running at full speed with a bunch of dudes hanging off it....... seems legit

Oh wait, let me guess, someone will suggest it run much slower with infantry on it. Hmmmmm doesn't seem so "extra" mobile now does it.

This is a very fail suggestion tbh.

Tanks carrying infantry for mobility I can wrap my head around.

Tanks carrying infantry which can shoot off it, I cannot. PzIV with Dual shreck Grens anybody? Balancing it would be a total fucking nightmare...

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

Not needed, and neither have I said that or implied that in any way. What it would do however, is freshen up a 7 year old game.

K, because a Sherman taking 4 shots from a King Tiger at close range seems legit also. Or a bike taking 3 bursts to kill 1 sniper dude with a mounted MG42. And..I could go on

Seriously ANOTHER realism argument? I now remember why I usually did not even bother with the public balance forum now..

It's pretty moot to continue discussing this to be honest, as Groundfire already stated; it's not something that is feasible without custom modelling work. Maybe it'll be easier in COH 2, or included in the SP campaign, who knows.

honestly this is just getting stupid, the sole reason EIRR is so badly balanced at high levels of play is people felt they needed to "Freshen up a 7 year old game", please dont implement this.

At the same time, remove random new units and stuff too...

As far as im concerned removing doctrines except for unlocks would be a great way to make the game so much more balanced.
