Well because
1. We are yet to attain balance with currently implemented units.
2. Most of these units were considered obsolete and redundant compared to current units.

I'm pretty sure we are talking about Copyright thing right here. Gotta need premissions to use things from other mods.

Look, it's not like we don't have models sitting around, I've personally been tinkering with a few here and there but the fact is that a lot of them have no real function or role aside from being some fun, there have been some ideas floating around on how to use some of these but nothing concrete. Why would someone buy a Matilda reward unit aside from the novelty? It's armored roughly like a Sherman and armed like an LV... That's not exactly awe inspiring! Same for a crusader, a crusader is literally an LV that looks like a tank, a cromwell with even worse armor and an even worse gun, the stuart probably hits harder.

Anyway, theres lots of units out there that could be added but that'd take both balance and rgd work, work that might be better put elsewhere. Personally I've always been in the "Moar units" crowd but I realize that's not always going to work so, eh... Maybe there will be more oppertunity to work units into the game later on?

Dunno for now thou, maybe myst will have an opinion on the matter since he'd have to balance any new unit.

Listen im not sure that the whole realism arguement should be allowed.

Maybe they should be commander units that give certain buffs( that you choose or auras or something

Yeh gotta agree with aero here, why do these units have to be realisitc and true.
The matilda could be a rapid fire AT weapon like the hotch.
The crusader could be like a 50mm stuart with flank speed.
The flak 38t could be like the bofors HT.

I think they fill a much needed role of cheap light tanks.

No reason everything has to be reward units though, some of them could be added as standard

ive brought this up a million times.

E.G
The churchill 95mm and the AVRE both exist in the game files.

no one wanted to add the 95mm cause it would be "similar" to the AVRE, which couldnt be further from the truth.

Imagine how awesome a Churchill armor STuH would be.....

Well look man, if some other dev wants to design units that are completely bonkers then he can be welcome to but I'm not going to do that, I tried once and it didn't work out to well. Even relic (in all their wisdom) kept most of their units fairly authentic for CoH with shermans, stugsm panzer and panther all behave and counter eachohter in a pretty believable way and I like that.

Of course, with OF they went totally bonkers since the stats for units like the crom and hotch completly silly when looked at from the same perspective I had on the original ones.

They wouldn't have to be ridiculous though, just as long as they served some kind of purpose, everyone obsesses with giving PE a Light/Medium Tank for example

Oh sure that's more plausable, I was more talking about the idea that the matilda should have some kind of hotchkiss like AT weapon like XII suggested, put simply that would not be a matilda. Whats the point of adding an iconic tank like a matilda if it doesn't behave like one?

I'm surprised that a bunch of standard non-doctrinal units haven't already became reward cards to help fill up the common/uncommon varieties. People quite liked the old reinforcement packages.

Really, who wouldn't want a couple of IHT's in their WM company (After modifying them so that Snipers couldn't enter of course...), or a Firefly for a US company?

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

I'm a fan of this as well. However there has been complaints about leadership and carrier units before.

Both of those can be coded into non-problems with a little work.

Definitely approve of this, it makes sense, the stuart was an american tank for example, same thing with the priest and staghound.

Also american mortar halftrack and wehrmact riflemen and better infantry reward units. The elite grenadiers, marines and anzac doesn't seem to be as useful as the regular elite infantry. Could use some more as well: highlanders, waffen SS, ostfront veterans, sturmpioniere, black watch.

The marines, anzacs and elite grens are monsters for what you pay for them and if you don't see that, you have expectations way out of porportion.

- The elitegrens is a squad of grenadiers with elite armor and G43's for 260 manpower, no muni cost... Can purchase a lot of useful upgrades including quad brens (iirc they're something like that).
- Marines are a 5 man grenadier squad with grenadier like rifles for 300mp that can purchase both zooks and lmg's.
- Anzacs have the durability of AB troops (iirc, ab armor and that HP) get 5 thompsons for 95 munitions while rangers have to pay 140 for just 4, they can also get smoke grenades that lets them close with ease on most targets.

If you're going to compare Egrens to kch, then sure, they're not THAT awesome. But what you have to take into account is the cost efficiency and all of these units are extremly powerful relative to their cost.
