I come before thee council of wizards for a very serous matter.

I have a couple of questions.

1. Are rifleman to weak?.  85% of the people i talk to say rifles are for recrew and capping and stickies. i for one never take bars nor do i see alot of people take bars and earn the cost back on them. its a decently priced weapon on a weak platform.

2. are Pgrens just a little to strong?. with the increase in squad size and other changes rifleman are at a bigger dis advantage, not only does the unit get  a cheap suppression ability(65 munies) its incredibly tough and as a added bonus receives a free sprint at all vet 1 for all mainline PE infantry.

3. we should probably nerf the crusader AA. thing gets 30 kills a game fairly regularly.

4.LATHT. retarded. huge range for a nice shot to disable a tank  sure its temporary but its not only incredibly handy to have its cheap. it also can receive focus fire and munch up infantry reliably from distance on a cool down no less.

5. airborne stickies. probably needs a price increase or something, with the ability to  disable things instantly(t2)  the stickies on a airdropped is now juicy.

6. why are shermans and p4s so ruddy expensive.

7. I can't remember the last time i have seen a Churchill crocodile get more than 20 kills.

8. why the fudge do axis get so much sprint?. sprint aura on stugs, sprint for all vet 1 units for PE, sprint in own territory PE, sprint with Mp40s for volks.

the end i will add to my list of questions n stuff.

(hoping that hicks can crush my dreams)

1. L2P.

2. L2P.

3. L2P.

4. L2P.

5. L2P.

6. L2P.

7. L2P.

8. L2P.

Heh, ok, as fun as that'd be, I'll answer seriously.

1. Riflemen are squishy, they are also cheap and have very potent base AI if (IF!) you get them into close range. Due to the nature of EiRR's doctrine-centric environment, BAR's will only work out for you when playing a doctrine that can make the Riflemen either less squishy or more potent. They'll also do pretty meh vs G43's in their current state, but that's an isolated issue. Long story short, they can either be your cannon fodder/recrew/cap when used loose, or surprisingly decent skirmishers when used with a fine hand or simply creatively (EG, Rifleman squad in a HT can roam around, pop out, mulch up a crew served weapon and then run off). TL;DR, they are fine for purpose.

2. PzGrens are currently fine for base performance. G43 suppression needs tweaking, but they work well otherwise. They have the best base survivability in the game, but the worst damage output to cost ratio compared to other front line infantry. Sprint is a debatable one, as they'd get it via a purchased upgrade before. Whether it should or should not go back to that is beyond the scope of what I'm willing to put here.

3. Duh.

4. Yep, LATHT is retarded as fuck. Works great in vCoH as you can just spot repair a broken tread in 2 seconds with an Engineer squad. In EiRR, even with it's temporary slow, it's brutal. You've got a 40/45 range sticky on cooldown. However, removing it would be overkill as it is somewhat required for PE's mostly brittle AT pieces to do their work. Increasing the ability's aim time by 1-2 seconds (It's already pretty long) might be an idea though.

5. AB stickies should be at a premium for cost, if they aren't they should be. They should be at 95 MU, but AB has been dicked about with that much over the years (And I admit, it's rare I play AB) that I barely know where that damned doctrine stands anymore.

6. Fuel wise, mediums aren't THAT bad... It's the MU cost that fucks things up for mediums. Definitely need some choice cuts to make them no more than 100ish MU fully decked out tbh. Otherwise, you tend to choose between having mediums or having AT, and mediums can't do your AT, so you're better off with LV's for your AI work and getting in some specialist AT. That and generalist units tend to get shafted in EiRR due to it's min-max style gameplay... Unless it's a very potent generalist unit like the TA, SP, KT, etc.

7. L2P. Seriously though, Church Croc is fine, just look after them better or plan ahead.

8. PE and sprint have always had a thing going on, Wher only really gets it in bulk via the Blitz doc.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

Tank has a point, the questions could be structured a little more. Make a point, prove your point, suggest fixes, have hicks destroy them. Easy

Other than that, a lot of this is valid. I'll see what happens here, and make changes on the fly if needs be.

it isn't structured because Hicks can tear down a thread almost instantly.

it's called Questions n stuff. not balance n thangs.

So i suggest from what hicks has said.

We price increase stickies on airborne
We nerf the crusader AA take away the flank speed or give it a longer reload or some crap.
We should probably look into why giving Pgrens sprint for free(it was never free before)

Hicks has said the Churchill croc is fine he hasn't explained why however and i would enjoy reading his explanation.

sigh.........

You guys do know that reporting a thread comes straight to my email address right?

Calling me "cheese sniffing cunt" is about this || close to having you permanently banned. We no longer have a little group of softy pussies protecting your ass in the Dev lobby.

What you have is tank130 and his credit card keeping this thing on the internet. That means I run the rodeo. If you don't like my rodeo, your ass will be out the door very quickly.

Is it diplomatic you may ask? Nope, my show, my rules, your ass out - simple as that.

Don't push it - I am very serious.

Andy's donations as far as i know are tied up in Jasons (eirmods) paypal account which is where they go.

unless he can transfer that money to tank then its stuck in limbo possibly not even collecting intrest.

As for this thread, im surprised bolt didnt bring up golis, that was the talk of the launcher the other day.

AB stickies definitely need to be increased in cost.

And while were on the subject of things, Panzerfausts, is the range too short or wind up too long ?

I'm just curious as to why our foremost authority on things is Hicks. Not to be mean but he ain't that gweatest player around. Hell I don't care if I'm mean. L2P Hicks for realz. I cringe when I see you tell people they need to learn what they're doing.

As far as i'm concerned, he's one of the best that is still around. He's also the only voice i respect around here, with exception to a few others. He knows what hes doing and knows how to do it. Despite what happened behind closed doors.

By all means ray, contribute to the balance discussions etc. I'll take your word into account, as you are, one of the better players here too.

What i don't want, is people insulting each other. How the fuck am i meant to code that?

It's like that chariot of the Gods book. The dude never insisted that Aliens came to Earth and formed the basis of most religions, he just wanted to propose the ideas as plausible without himself giving the ideas all that much credence.

I've never claimed to be the greatest player around, and I never will. I have my good games, I have my bad games. I also tend to play a lot with my brother and an old buddy, who aren't exactly lol-wut-top-tier-elite-prepare-companies-together grade players. I also stray away from spam and gimmick companies (...For the most part) and as 75% of the game is decided in the launcher, it can easily make me look terrible quite often.

I imagine the reason that my word has so much weight though, is because I know the RGD's inside out and how most of the unit statistics connect and influence each other. I know them well enough to start pissing myself laughing immediately when a post is made that is completely and utterly full of shit. Worst case, a 2 minute check going right to where everything is, and then pissing myself laughing.

It's quite rare that I'll tell people to straight up L2P though, as I simply tell people "Look, you are wrong, and here are the base mechanics of the game telling you why". If you pay attention, most of my posts are correcting fallacies rather than commenting on play. I really can't stand it when people spout out bullshit as fact, because if that picks up and it sticks with people, you get a big movement following it and then shit changes get pushed in from peer pressure rather than allowing critical analysis to take it's course.

TL;DR - I correct things, rather than yell L2P. Most of the time.
