Difficult curve in most games:
                                 -------
                      --------
             ------
---------
Harder over time.

Halo:(3)
                                                                                 -
                                                                                 -
                                                                                 -
                                                                                 -
----------------------------------------------------------

The driveoutofexplodingshit part was a bit harder Wink

If i can play halo and beat it on its hardest level, it's a shitty game lol i cant' even bet cod4 on hard, never mind brutal....but i've beat halo 1 on legendary at least twice, did halo 2 on legendary co-op and halo 3 almost all bymyself before lil nephew took game back...

Halo Wars looks like another crap microsoft product. I just dont trust microsoft, and there's a reason so many developers want to leave them, they dont reallly allow them to be creative.

seriously doubt that, EA puts out more quality games than microsoft does.

Crysis, Battlefield Franchise, Sims, and all SimCity games, Need for Speed, Medal of Honor, Fight Night, Command and Conquer, Burnout, black n white, etc...

Very good point there. Battlefield is pretty great, especially the mods. Medal of Honor Allied Assault were some of my first FPSs, and Medal of Honor Airborne is an amazing FPS, very nice realism, and perfectly made (of course a little short). EA defiantly has more great games than Microsoft.

Medal of Honor Airborne was the best world war two fps that I've ever played. A little short, and how frustrating it was to see some units take a whole M1 Garand clip. Or a whole (50rd) magazine from a thompson.

The fact that you say the game is shit and takes no skill to play.  It's the classic argument against Halo that uninformed people would use.

THTB made a good point but I wanted to say that when, on occasion, some of the guys bring their 360 into work and I can pick up a controller and stomp them every time (and they play this game every day mind you) its a shit game that takes no skill.  I RARELY play consoles and most of the time if I do its a fighting game, like soul caliber or super smash bro brawl.  So if I can do that, and wipe the floor with them being experienced, its no skill and easy game.

EA has its issues too.  IMO Battlefield 2 was good, but then they rushed the expansions out way to fast and they were IMO crap.  EA does rush some of its developers too fast to put games out too quickly and most of the time they need some patching.  Ill only quickly mention that the pricks over at Ubisoft destroyed my favorite game franchise ever (Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six) when Tom Clancy allowed them to buy Red Storm Entertainment.  Its been shit ever since.

I think the best experience in a FPS I've ever had was when the first CoD came out, and it totally blew me away.  But man, after that they just seemed to get worse and worse until CoD4 came out.

ok here we go
Halo is a GOOD game. Its not amazing and it definatly doesnt suck. The office story where you could rock your coworkers socks makes me think they just arent good ive met people that have owned and played for years but they flat out suck! It has provided me and friends summers of entertainment, and as to the people online they are all retards so you should just go ahead and mute them.
I think console games deal with alot of hand eye quardination some people have or dont have not to sake practicing for 2 weeks straight wontmake you as good as everybody else its just a different game style. the ones who will bash CoH after playing HW didnt by the game for strat they bought for the title and I dont think any of us know how good/bad its going to be until you play it.
so theres my opinion/insight into it all you may now proceed with bashing halo

I don't own a 360 but when I do play halo this is what I do. Hop in vehicle and commit vehicular manslaughter and then every yells at me for being cheap and then I get off of it and go around trying to shoot people but then I get sniped from 15 different angles. I don't find Halo fun to play as well.

I personaly loved halo, when it came to computer, played it nonstop just because of the addition of vehicles to a fps that felt solid.

As for Medeal of Honor - just watch the ZeroPunctation review ....

I played throw it on nor. difficulty and the end is just retarded, fucking john-gasmasks evrywhere and you have to just throw 3-4 anti tank grenade at them. The game even relizes that you have to do that and hands out boxes of those evry 5m.

Also the fabric lvl is retarded with the 17 snipers that are hidden at the most immpossible spots that also respawn evry time you die. In the end I just tryed to ignore them and sprint for all the objectivs, slam a c2 on it and hope it blows up before I die...

Btw; I am not saying Halo is a bad game, its just overrated, also it has it flaws and pissing off halo fanboys makes my day better.

I don't think anyone on here has dissed FPS once, we just are all mature enough to know how bad of a game halo is. I don't know how many FPS I have talked about, but I'm mainly an FPS player, the only RTS I currently play is CoH and before that the last RTS that I was into was Warcraft 3. I think anyone who is truly a game fan and truly an FPS fan can tell that at most halo was a decent game, and no more. Also in my book CS is nothing more then a twitch game, no real skills required.

yea I am a FPS player, CoH is just about the only RTS I have ever got into and then this mod/community made that even better.  I started out in FPS's and will always play them, but for now, basically the only thing I play is EiR.

So I've been watching my little brother play halo wars.

this game is hilarious! its such an incredibly poor entry to a RTS game. has anyone played swords and soldiers? its a 2D kind of rts or maybe you could call it tower style, but either way, since it's 2D your units go in a straight line, and maps only provide routes that are up and down. Halo war maps look the same, but in a 3D environment. I know it's console so it has to be incredibly dumbed down, but it just makes me laugh. This game came out in what 2008/09? Reminds me of games from maybe 2000 or earlier.

As it was, I found the game to be mildly entertaining. It's certainly not very strategic but it is quite fun. It's a shame they didn't make it for the PC, then it probably would have found the market it was looking for.

It was supposed to be the first console based RTS, it was an experiment.
I personally enjoyed the campaign and story, on the other hand its game play felt decades behind.

It used a rock, paper, scissors approach, with lizard and spock thrown in for variety.

If the story was good then that makes a big difference, I probably would of played a demo if one were for the PC.

I liked halo wars as a concept, halo based RTS? Could be awesome!
Then it was for the console... derp...
