In vCOH you get BARs on all your riflesquads for one upgrade, in EIR it's much more expensive and purchased per unit.
Don't compare EIR to vCOH when it comes down to non-stat comparisons.

The problem may simply be that Weapon Surplus and Stacked are broken, allowing you to get a stupid amount of BARs/nades/stickies/mp40s/shreks/lmgs/mp44s.

It would be cool if you could purchase the two things (BAR and suppressive fire) separatly, actually you pay 40 for suppressive fire and 35 for the bar itself, I dunno if it is pretty even since it is a general upgrade in vCoh and comes on all your rifles for 200 mp and 60 fuel, but I am sure that a half of it is OK.

There have been many versions of EIR.  Some of them were balanced back in the day so EVERY squad had an upgrade.  Some were balanced the exact opposite so that it was very rare to see any weapon upgrade.

The current amount of upgraded troops really does have the best balance IMO.  I don't think we are close to any "stupid" amount of weapons even with the doctrine choices.  And remember, if they did chose Weapon Surplus or Stacked they gave up a lot in comparison.  Just pack more AI Grin

No they are broken, with the decrease in upgrade costs, but nothing changed to the doctrines. Go ask chaos, about his stacked/weapon surplus companies. I believe he has 30 fully upgraded rifles with stacked (atleast everyone has a bar/nade and about half have stickies).

And I've played endless shrek/lmg waves of grens with weapon surplus.

Stacked and weapon surplus are an issue, yeah.
Match that with cheap infantry mp cost and you got the best deal ever.

Yea, the acual pricing is pretty balanced, most doctrine abilities are retarded and break that balance unfortunately.
Even veterancy gives people flawed perception of unit to unit balance to an extent.

meh, i must be doing something wrong... i almost equip all if not most of my rifleman groups with BARs, and i cant count how many times Gren, Storm or Volks just run thru the hail of bullets even with supress and engage me at close range..   only just i have had was with rangers with smgs.. but alas, i lost 2 ranger squads with smgs to 2 kch squads.. i know the knights cross guys are good, but two ranger squads?

heck, i deleted my company that i had since iam so frustrated... my hmgs, bar teams getting run over as the others just run thru the hail of bullets, or as my last game i played which desynced, i had full ART 5 off maps and 2 howis, i hit with a off map and on map a few blobs, only the see their guys just run thru them and come out still pretty well off, even saw a pak take about 2 direct hits and still keep coming lol..

i must be doing something wrong.

2 riflesquads can kill 2 stormtroopers with 2x mp44 both by just activate suppressive volley--> after 5 seconds they are completly suppressed and die  Angry
I think you should be able to buy suppressive volley in your company menu for about 20-30 mun (it costs 40mun in vCOH)

Edit comment: get the topic name right. Nothing is more annoying than incorrect nomenclature in the topic.

ive noticed this myself and unfortunately on the wrong side of the bar. the only advantage you have is to have the stormtroopers camoflage and wait for the allied to come to u. its wierd how the allied infantry really do have the edge over axis with the exception of veteran three units like knights cross. sry i feel your pain. bars pin them down, and pinned down units are really hard to kill.. it should give you enough time to send help for the storms.

Not really. just the noobs are all going to the axis side.

i think this mod dont need much skill or strat..

Probably been pointed out in the 8 pages, but if that were true, then you wouldn't be posting this thread in the first place, because you would of had the SKILL or the STRAT to counter it.

After 10 seconds of being suppressed damage and accuracy is increased. It's only 10 seconds so you don't have long.

http://coh-stats.com/Info:Suppression

Effects of Suppression:

Suppressed Activate Actions
Moving Speed - 2
Pinned Activate Actions
Disable Capture
Disable Weapons
After you have been pinned for 10 seconds.
Received Accuracy x 2
Received Damage x 1.5

Usually grenadiers get suppressed and stormtroopers get pinned, least so it seems for me. Worth noting that in Green cover you usually don't get suppressed with grenadiers and such.

Also if your BAR squad manages to capture a LMG42 or 2, it will increase the effect of Suppression Fire dramatically.
