since the lee enfield is crap and the commandos is THE weakest elite unit in the game i think when the commandos have enfields they get a health bonus and when have stens they are normal

No, because upgrades should upgrade. Not degrade with an upgrade. A reduction in MP prices COULD be doable, though.

A HP boost for a shitty rifle doesn't solve the rifle being shitty.
The M1 Garand isn't much better but it's an improvement. A price reduction is probably in order.
Or taking a look at Smoke Recharge, it's many minutes longer then Fireup or sprint and that makes them 1 use units. Something which high attrition squads can't be.
Health isn;t the answer though, it doesn't address the problem.
Also, I'm looking into a system where Vanilla elite units won't rape you on Pool values and it would be tied to upgrades. so you see more Elite unit based companies like old EiRR

They problem with commandoes, is that they were an early game shock troop in VCOH that were worthless in late game battles. They have no place next to the other Elite units. And the best use they ever had was in beta, was crushing multiple inf squads with the glider and getting a free squad of infantry. Then you got the ability to do the same thing and get a Tetrarch and didn't drop a mando squad for the rest of the game (unless you were certain the mandos would all die and not tie up your pop for more useful infantry)
And unlike all other elite troops, they don't even get an at option.

Faust is an at option A rifle is an AI option, not the most effective one but one all the same.

So? The decision to give them just rifles was made so people could have a cheap option to clear HMGs (smoke + nades), not to fight mainline infantry.

I'm quite confident that mortar's will do the same job for a little bit more munitions, and be an all around useful unit on top, to be used for more than one occasion.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

Are you talking about the mortar that barely has more range than the HMG42s itself....?

I'm talking about Commando Mortars which have the same range as American Mortars if I recall. That which you just mentioned is a failing with the standard Brit Mortar.

Commandos are a unit that have one of the highest effective health versus the volksgrenadier rifle, like - in the game.
It's not their health that's an issue - it's just they probably cost a little bit too much, or their Lee-Enfield could use a little bit of buffing as opposed to the tommy counterpart.

I think he's getting more at the point that they feel exceptionally fragile for expensive Elite Infantry.
I wouldn't mind the rifles having a performance increase for them... But I'm still of the opinion that they should just have their stens alone, but be altered to be effective assault infantry that can be used more than once in their deployment time.
