I'm curious about something about the Officer.
Why is it that hes the only kind of officer that cant pick up dropped weapons, is there an actual balanced reason for this? Since it seems a bit odd the the wehr officer cant pick up dropped weapons when all the allied ones can pick whatever they like up.
Also, what happened to his STG-44 when he got to vet 2 or 3?

His Luger can be pretty rapey if need to be. Like, I managed to chase and kill at 1/4 life with just an officer.
Would still like to have an STG-44 (would pay MU if needed) and I'd like to be able to pick up weapons like the other officers. I feel its slightly unfair that my officer can be in some 1v1 with a bar in between us and he can pick it up but I can't Sad
Its not even like its an balance issue. Its not like he's going to pick up and get and start raping armies with it :s

Tbf, Officers with stolen weaponry are pretty rape.

Put a Captain with LMG42/BAR/Bren in heavy cover and watch what happens. xD

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

i thing they could have just hard capped officers, but to make their ART 1 usage was dork imho.. why pay 100mun for 1 drop?? if somebody wants to use 100+ mun on a single guy who can drop a killer ART every 5min or so go for it... only takes 1 lucky art shell, or motar shot or something to kill it.. i never had a problem with them.

Captain + LMG42 = death of any enemy support weapon when used correctly. Which is pretty damned epic for one man. He'll hold off an entire Volks/PzGren squad at max range (Not kill, hold off) for a good while too if you give him heavy cover or a building.

IMO, WM Officer should be re-buffed. Its not like hes impossible to kill. And let him have an (improved statistically) MP40 upgrade for like 10 munis; mp44 is a bit far I think.

See, this is why not being able to pick up a weapon is a piss take Sad
And I be totally down for paying for a automatic weapon for him :3

Paying for the barrage on the officer is worth it in my opinion. I've managed to wipe whole opening squads with it. Also used it to force 2+ squads of rangers/airbourne/mandos off the map which makes up for its cost in ONE barrage Cheesy

def officer is pretty hard to kill, they have 140 health. capts and lt's have 65 and always seem to die to panther, p4 or stug shots lol. Captains already have a very good bonus which is better than the LT (since it adds damage as well) and as mortar barrage comes down the officer can move right away unlike capt which has to stand there (FOO forward observed officer artillery) so i dunno, i think it's quite fair. i've chased down and killed un-upgraded rifle squads with my officer b4, quite hilarious.

Yep. They defiently are. I remeber the bren/ captain combo. That was so lame.
You button a tank (the bigger the better) and then you get the captain to FOO it. Usually destroyed the tank or completely and utterly crippled it…

There is a reason why we split the american officer into 2 guys and halfed his HP and why the MP44 for the Defensive Officer and the Terror Officer were removed. We don't want 1 man rambo units soloing squads by themselves, its too broken. They are supposed to support your mainline infantry and act as a support unit in general, and not kill squads by themselves.

Fair enough. I just wanted a bigger gun for him so he can defend himself in a pinch. I completely understand not making Rambo however, Just be nice to be able to shoot a gun that has some presence to it, but yeah, Completely understand if you don't want to allow that. I'm even completely happy to ignore the fact that the LT, US Officers and I THINK the Captain all get automatic weapons xD

What DOESN'T make sense is why is the defensive officer the only dude that can't pick up weapons off the field, Every other officer on the battle field seems to have the ability too. Hell, as mentioned in this thread earlier, its entirely possible for an US officer squad to get 2 Shreks and use them.
I don't see any reason for him not being able to, or am I missing something that means the Officer shouldn't be able to pick up guns?

Hell, I'm completely happy for the Officer being able to pick UP weapons and not be able to use them (Don't know how you would go about making the Luger the only guy he uses) so I can simply deny the enemy dropped shreks ect...
