Mass retreating "vet"

People tend to mass retreat their veteran units so quickly, that it harms the gameplay...

For instance, I had a game against Hans & Fritz and they just pressed T (maybe accidentally) after seeing that one Stormtrooper got killed of a veteran squad.
Why would you do that?

Veterancy is not important at all: it will die sooner or later.

Veterancy is only important on units where gaining it doesn't affect your usage of them.

For example, any form of artillery.

Infantry, armour or support weapons however... It's just nice when you get a bit. Sometimes it CAN show it's use on heavy armour, but half the time it causes people to be too conservative with it once it hits vet 2.

It's satisfying to kill their vet at the end of the day when it IS retreating. Losing vet is inevitable, winning games is not.

Only riflemen and calliopes do I really care about. +sticky range is definitely worth retreating to keep, and calliopes are fucking stupid strong with vet 3...it's just so hard to GET them there
