This piece of heavy AT needs some form of love. The firing arc is quite narrow making it very irritating to control, not only is the arc small it is also very, very, slow. Sure you can avoid a assault with it but you ain't escaping anywhere with it if shit hits the fan!

I propose a wider Arc of Fire for this thing. In the end the speed isn't all that necessary! It is already weaker versus light vehicles.

On a side note: This thing also needs to differ a little little bit more from its better friend 6Pdr aka 57mm. It has the same damage. The only real difference is the improved penetration it has. This could also be looked into. The mobility of 17Pdr and also its narrow arc makes it completely obsolete compared to 6Pounder. Why you'd take 17Pdr when 6Pdr is much better? That's the sad truth of the 17Pdr.

Because a forum post should be like a woman's skirt. Long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.

The firing arc really should be improved, the only reason I think there is to take one is for panthers and above if you don't have the FU for a FF. You really have to keep a tight leash on these things for the simple fact that you DO NOT want them captured. But of course it's hard to run away with them as well. I treat them as mobile 88s almost and make sure my team keeps them covered if something happens to my units.

i would take the 17pdr because it has a higher penetration, that a big difference against lots of german tanks tbh

Well sir you are making a very bad choice. Whats the point of higher penetration when you cant even turn engage the target in the first place? Or get away from a simple mortar shell?

Like said.

The narrow arc of fire ontop of it being literally a better penetrating 6Pdr makes this thing just...just...I don't even know....obsolete.

17 pounder needs improved Arc of Fire at minium. If anything a minor damage increase wouldn't hurt.

On top of that, pen doesnt mean as much for ATGs. The faster fire of a 6pdr makes up for difference in Pen, it moves and turns faster, and has a wider arc. It also doesn't require an unlock.

Don't forget that the 6 Pounder also has the traditional ATG 50% deflection modifier... Even if you bounce every shot but the kill shot, you'll still average out at more damage dealt than the 17 pounder purely because you'll actually manage to get those shots off in the first place.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

Agreed with everything stated. I say this, make it 400mp, keep the MU cost the same (160) give it a normal firing arc, maybe a little smaller. That would make it a much more worthy unlock.

Even though it has 4 men manning it, it's still easy to kill with snipers because it cant run away.
Also you could give it the hugest arc of fire and it wouldnt matter because the thing fires so damned slow if your tank gets hit its easy to get out of the way before the next shot is fired.

No leave the arce the same, give it better range....

Range will fix this unit and keep it completly Unique.

Puddin' spamtm
i cant really blame smokaz i mean playing against puddin is like trying to fight off breast cancer. You might win and do it and be a bad ass but you'll feel sick and mutilated forever.

Puddin' spamtm is soulcrushing... what's hard to understand about that?

Range of greater than 60 on direct fire units is broken.

88 cannot move =) and counts as armor.

If the 17pdr becomes a stationary emplacement and costs 200+ fuel then its fine.

it used to be like the 88 and then axis players whined like crazy and it was turned into an atg emplacement and then it was turned into a towable gun

"OMG OMG so gay my panthers get killed from like 4x their normal range nerf! Its not like the axis has anything like that!! No standalone *heavy* AT for allies!"  Roll Eyes

Meh, an emplacement with better range would suit me fine. Atm there's enough arty in the meta game to kill it.
