Puma

So I've taken some love to this little tank hunter, but I wonder one thing, why does almost no doctrine touch it?
Allied docs across the board buff their vehicles much more, even operation overlord grants a -15% rec acc to light vehicles and that's from an infartry focus company, axis has nothing but speed buffs for the puma and while terror does have a -15% rec pen, it does nothing since a puma cant even bounce T17 rounds... T17 rounds! That's fine mind you, it shouldn't have much armor.
So anyway, I'm really just asking here, is there any specific reason why the puma is barely touched by any doc aside from the odd speed/accel buff?

what would you buff on the puma? its already hard to hit and usually takes 3-4 shots to kill it from a TD and 2 atgs.
I think the puma is fine currently they are a horror with my AB damned RR's.

They were designed to be the direct counter to AB, so i should hope so. That being said, it needs more

Don't forget the Puma gun has been changed to match the PE Armored Car, so it's way more reliable at killing infantry than before. Other than a 'T17' which can semi-rapid fire, allies have nothing that mows down units like this, and the Quad doesn't count (it doesn't mow down guys but rather mass suppresses) while every other vehicle is equipped with a slow firing .50 cal.

PE and Puma Acs have the same gun. The only diff is Speed and MG.

The WM Puma has 50 more health at 310 health where the PE AC has 260 health.
WM Puma has max speed of 6.4 with acceleration of 4.5 whereby the PE AC has 7.5 speed and 6 acceleration.
As of a recent patch weapon loadouts are now identical, both maingun and coaxial MG - They were made in line with the PE AC. The only difference in main gun performance between the two is that the PE AC has 0.65 moving accuracy whilst the WM Puma has 0.5. Everything else is identical.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.

Puma is a unit with potential yet very fragile.
I would like to see some doctrine buffs for it encouraging its use.
Also think the upgun should be reduced to at least 7 pop from 8 (2 light ATs for 16 pop is way too much)

Its fragile if it ever gets hit, M10s will miss almost every shot if they're moving and even at guns aren't that reliable in hitting them. Just keep your pumas moving and be aware of where the enemies at guns are and its pretty easy to wreak havoc with pumas...

Allies have more light vehicles to play with, WM only really have the puma. I suppose, with it being the only real LV, most axis doctrines don't cater to light vehicles like the allied ones do. If you look closely there are more abilities affecting the puma than at a first glance however, i.e abilities that will also affect halftracks ('light vehicles') and sometimes just 'vehicles' (this includes tanks). It's just never really listed specifically in a buff.

That shows how little you play with this unit.
So far i have found 1 thing true, The puma is a magnet for tank shots. Especially the M-18s. I had 2 M-18s hunting 4 pumas, and they never missed. I had double repairs and burned through all my pumas to M-18s.
Now for a cheap unit i expect it it to die in 2-3 hits, but the speed to get away i pay for the repairs, but for everything to hit it....
I would love to test this with someone at some point and prove the pumas were hit with some kind of change that does not make anythign really phase through them anymore,.

i personally haven't used the new pumas but played against someone who was spamming them and they are awesome!
upgun pumas still get that MG buff, so they can whittle away at enemies pretty well, they have low damage but good penetration when they hit a vehicle. And regular pumas well, they tear through infantry.

Indeed since allies Stickies are only good at vet2 and handheld is doctrinal and i dont see the point in bringing 1 zook. There are those times when it just plain outright sucks to against pumas.
