i used the crapfail for the shermans and had the feeling that it makes the armour of the sherman stronger (marder bounced two times in a row)
is that true that the crpafail gives it buffs or was it just random

crabflail needs option to switch to back and give sherman a boost of speed and in front it should be able to swat away all incoming projectiles thus making it the best upgrade in eir!
it can't doa nything else...make it useful

it needs something from armor doctrine to make it go the same speed as normal even when it's activated.
or it needs to give it some health boost, or better armor (not as good as the bulldozer though) from the front.

Isn't that irrelevant as if they are suppressed therefore the Sherman can run over regardless of having mineflail or not?

the reason you hardly see mineflails is because you hardly see mines. but both mines and mineflails are fine. just go and build a minespam company if you want to see more mineflails.

Mineflails are pretty useful if you are insistent on crushing infantry.
The mineflail increases the crushing radius of the Sherman, but the infantry don't recognise the extra range on the Sherman. This means that if you go full speed into infantry, theres a good chance they wont dodge in time.
You can also place your Sherman directly next to an infantryman, then rotate into the squad, and nudge forwards. This insta-gibs the infantryman in question, as he will physically be 'In' the extended crushing radius, but movement is required for crushing to actually happen.
Tbh, it's only really useful for detonating mines if you know that they have been placed in advance.
