This would come to US Army Infantry Branch.

What US is 'lacking' is a heavier version of their worthy Machinegun.

In Addition of the .30 Cal machinegun team, there could be a heavier eqvivalent of this said squad.

The main attraction should be both suppression and accuracy with higher cost in terms of pop and resources. The squad would consist of 4 members. Two which operate the platform and two for back up. The MG itself comes with a higher penetration values due to it being heavier though its higher penetration would not mean it'd be raping vehicles like .30 cal ith AP burst on.

How about it? Heavier Machinegun team to deal with heavy axis infantry?

With higher firing speed it could easily

And instead of an AP burst, a higher firing speed

tbh, if it's heavier it should fire slower but do more damage, not fire faster

At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

It should be very slow, it's a 200lb gun with no carriage.

In addition it would have a lower rate of fire than the .30.

Of course, Allies don't really need new units anyway.

That is why we don't need realism Grin

If we skip the realism we can have 50 cal that has higher RoF than the .30 cal. Suppression and accuracy ontop of higher penetration! Perfect

i say give it better suppression, but slower rate of fire, sure it fires slower, but god damn, those are some big fucking bullets.

ampm could probably help me with this, but afaik

one of those big ones on the left is a .50 cal

bottom middle is a 30-06 (what the garand uses)
bottom left is 7.62 (either the same or close to what the mg42 used)
bottom right is 5.56 (dont think WWII weapons used these, but it's what the M-16 uses)

Increased suppression, increased damage, but lower accuracy and lower rate of fire. When this thing fires you're gonna shit bricks, and if it hits you, by god it's gonna smart.

Actually, I believe the Left is .50, 2nd left is russian 12.7 (same diameter bullet as .50, different casing). I may have those backwards, going off the bullet tip paint.

Left of the small ones is 7.62x51 (NATO round), then 7.62R (Rimmed Russian) used in the Mosin Nagant. German guns were chambered in 7.92x57mm, AKA 8mm Mauser. The far right is 7.62x39 (AK/SKS round) 5.56 is on the top right. Left Pistol round is 7.62 tokarev, and the right is .45 ACP (1911/Colt 45 round).

Oh yeah, OT, 50 cal team would be PHENOMENAL. Move slower (the gun itself is about 90 lbs, tripod is 35, ammo is fuckin heavy), double setup time, but more damage than the mounted 50, suppression less than the .30, but longer range than the MG42.

4-5 man team, something ilke 400MP/80 mun, 8 support pool.

It's not the best suppression tool.

Slow RoF for an MG, but it can put holes in things. Should be more like an anti light vehicle gun than an anti Infantry gun.

5 man team with good health, massive damage against infantry, good range (40-45). Pricey. Long setup and unsetup time.

Imo.

Realism Argument. Why not make it a same rof as 30 cal but higher suppression and longer range? Heavy MG has its place and role.
